It's green, but resourceless thus far. I've ran a few torusland maps and this one looks particularly barren so far. That being said, how many times have folk said that at this stage and it turns out there was plenty of food hiding in the fog just out of sight.
got it.
COuple of mistakes, don't know how much they matter but: our corn is wet rather then dry, and a bunch of the river isn't there. I've been trying corn->pig, and I can still get him onto the pig the turn AH is researched.

Hmm, in that case, that may slightly optimise the order further. I'll run some more tests now. (May 25th, 2013, 15:35)Qgqqqqq Wrote: got it. Used this method. At turn 33 we had 4 cities, 4 workers (not enough but tech rate is so slow that more would just be bored until wheel comes in- due in 2t), cities are sizes 4,2,1,1. Until we know where food resources are though, most of that micro is useless. I can write it out if anyone wants to take up the challenge. By the way, the prize is that you get to choose our naming theme.
Yeah I think second city is as far as we should sim.
A pic of the end would be nice.

For sandbox purposes, I assumed that second city would grab the sheep and share pigs. It had a grass hill all mined ready from the turn it's founded which allowed it to start by building a worker (with bonus hammer) at size 1. Note that we have an abundance of silver. Can't find any convenient food though. That crab/silver location is upsetting. It is lighthouseable, but only by settling on the silver. Such a tease.
Like the dotmap - can't we lighthouse the crabs at 2S of the silver?

That would be a good site for single player, but the current spot shares the sheep with city 2and is much easier to reinforce. Don't forget, we will have very little space on this map. 36x36 Torusland is not a big map. Take a look at the sandbox and how close the AI are for a good example. Working the sheep lets us quickly grow to size 2 before whipping out the workboat.
Yeah I was thinking long term not third city ish.
