With Cambridge at size 4 with a lot of food, and gold mine not ready yet, I'm going to whip a Worker there. Then I can start growing London after building just one Worker - I will have 5 Workers for 3 cities, should be enough for now

Founded the city of Milton Keynes
...and found that copper I hoped to see on the bear peninsula. Guess I know which city is going to be founded next
Oracle plans are definitely abandoned now. The "2 Settlers and 3 Workers" wonder seems infinitely more powerful
Everything else is as planned. Whip a Worker in Cambridge next turn. London Worker finished this turn, London will start growing now. Grow to 5, then whip a Settler seems like a reasonable plan

Milton Keynes is one of the most boring English cities. But as it happened, a close friend of mine lives there. I was in the city 4 times last year, and not going to stop this year ![smile smile](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/smile2.gif) Hopefully it will be a more interesting city in this game than it is in real life

Here's a good look at Gazglum's third city, along with my Scouts stuck behind his land
War in 2 turns. Scouts will move as shown, will need 3 turns to get through his territory. Hopefully I will lose at most one
The more I think about it, the more the idea of attacking Gazglum early appeals to me. If I can kill him, I will have the whole southern peninsula for myself. At the moment I don't believe he has copper available anywhere, the one closest to him is the one which will be in Cambridge's borders in 6 turns. 10 Axes + 2 Spears should get the job done. Will make that decision once Scouts cross his land
The core is developing nicely, I'll have road connections shortly, and will get ready to settle the copper city. There is a barb Warrior incoming from the west, I moved out the Cambridge Archer to meet him

I wonder why Gazglum didn't adopt Hinduism yet. Is there any downside to a Spiritual leader adopting religion as soon as they get it?

War it is
The main task of Warrior in NW is to create an additional headache for Gazglum and deter him from attacking my Scouts. And if he can do something useful, even better

Well, I didn't understand the map as well as I thought
Gazglum does have copper. Judging by the road network, it most likely is 3E of the capital. And I'm in some amount of trouble
Moving all Scouts to the hill S of Gazglum's capital seemed like the best option. On this tile, they can't get hit by a unit from another city. One will probably die to the Vulture - attacking the Scouts is the best option for Gazglum. Then I will also need to sacrifice the Warrior to get the remaining 2 Scouts safely out. Unless the Vulture takes so much damage that he can't attack the Warrior. Unlikely, but can happen
Hope Gazglum sings peace once my Scouts get out though. I thought he wouldn't have copper.. as it is, if we stay at war, I will have to defend with Archers against Vultures, which is far from ideal. My best bet is that he thinks I'm not crazy enough to declare ancient war without any strategic resources, and will accept peace

I'll be very happy if Gazglum goes for the Warrior instead of Scouts. If the Vulture leaves the city and the road network, I will be able to reveal pretty much all of Gazglum's territory. And that's a very good deal for a single Warrior. I would even say that the information I already got from this war is worth a Scout and a Warrior I'm likely to lose

Gazglum went for the Warrior. Scouts are all alive, and should be able to escape by the eastern coast
Along the way, they confirmed the location of copper
Offered peace. Scouts should be bumped in the right direction now. Don't think we want to actually fight at the moment - he's not ready either, his Vulture should be the only real combat unit. I will be prepared if he declines, but obviously would prefer peace now that Scouts got out of his backyard. Well, more or less

No peace. And Gazglum is building a road for his Vulture. He will probably kill a Scout. But oh well, so it goes
