[SPOILERS] HitAnyKey's Thread for the Jumbled Masses of Crap within his Brain

This first line of your sandbox made me think that you were working the plains hill from the start...and that you switch from it to the silk after the workboat finishes...
"Mediation/Growth/Workboat same--switch from plains hill to silk after workboat finishes"
So that's why I had us working the plains hill.

EDIT: Bah, I just scrolled up and realized I was supposed to read the first part of sandbox 1 for those steps. frown
Does it also mean we'll get Meditation a turn later too?

Yeah, I think Mediation is delayed a turn since we don't have the commerce--it shouldn't matter since we still have way more commerce going into Mediation (barring someone starting with an Oasis or something).

Here's the update on the scouting....

I'm probably going to head westward, but I could also go NE to clear the fog over there. But I have a feeling it's a deadend and I wouldn't really be revealing much right now. Probably better to scout the area north of the city and try to find my neighbors.

Okay, things don't seem too bad on the micro end--we'll still get Mediation T8, the workboat actually finishes a turn earlier, and we grow a turn later--still go to the warrior next, and work the silk when we grow--thanks for keeping me updated smile

Oh joy....I have just met Seven. Not happy to be this close to him. smile

Bah....Seven played a sneaky that I didn't realize until afterwards....

When I logged in, I had a diplo window pop up with a Peace Treaty request from him. Still being half asleep, I didn't realize what I might have meant so accepted it. I now see....
on his turn he declared war, moved onto the forest plains hill to get visibility of my capital, and the peace treaty I accepted pushed him back out. frown

So for the moment, we are the #1 Civ with the #1 city. Only one to grow to Pop 2, which means everyone else basically started out making a worker.

Things look good--is the micro plan still working okay even though we worked the plains hill for a turn?

I believe so. As of this turn, we are 4 turns from growth and 4 turns from completing the warrior. At which point we will start the worker. I'll examine details a bit more hopefully tonight after work.

Attempt 4: Mediation->Mining->Bronze Working, Workboat->Warrior->Worker, city plan A
  • Mediation/Growth/Workboat same--switch from plains hill to silk after workboat finishes
  • Grow T12, work plains hill
  • Mining T13
  • Warrior T13, switch to Worker, switch from plains hill to coast (BW 11 turns, Worker 6 turns)
  • Worker T19, switch to Settler, worker mines sheep
  • Mine completes T23, switch to Mine, worker moves 1E and chops
  • BW T24, move to Wheel
  • Settler T27, switch to Worker
  • Chop T27, Worker completes T29
That's a surprise--this only gets the settler out 1 turn slower than the BW first plan, and the chop doesn't even go into the settler. There might be a bit of tweaking on what the third tile is while building the worker, but right now this is my preference.

Replying to this to have it handy and give an update of where we are, after the minor mistake of working the wrong tile for a turn:

Turn 13: We grew, got mining, and completed the warrior. Mining & warrior were exact counts. So we're at 0/60 on the worker & 0/174 on BW. Our food supply is at 2/26.
I know you state "switch from plains hill to coast", but I'm not sure what you mean by that. We're definitely working the Fish as that gets us 6F2C. I believe we should work both the Spices & Silk as the other two tiles. The base on those are 2F1H1C. We get +50% H for building Worker as Productive. Working those two tiles, we get the Worker done in 5 turns instead of the 6 turns you listed above. And BW is still finished in 11 turns.
So updating your list above gets us:
[*] Worker T18, switch to Settler, worker mines sheep
[*] Mine completes T22, switch to Mine, worker moves 1E and chops
[*] BW T24, move to Wheel
[*] Settler T27, switch to Worker (I haven't done the calculations or sandbox, so don't know if the settler finishes earlier or not)
[*] Chop T27, Worker completes T29 (this would all depend on when the settler finishes)

Let me know if you disagree with my use of the tiles as of this turn. I'm ending the turn now but have until everyone else plays to log back in and switch them.
