Scout moved 2 NE

Well with Corn being there my first thought is putting our next city 1W of it, it can borrow the Wheat tile from the capital if needed. What do you think Terror? Obviously don't need to make any kind of decision on T1 but thought I'd discuss it.

Scout will probably head east next turn and then look to go southerly in a clockwise pattern. I do worry that our scout will be mauled by animals next turn since he will end his turn on flatland but whatcha gonna do?

Also a note about previous screenshots, you can just see some water virtually all the way along the west fog, given the fact that the tiles next to it aren't showing fresh water then its probably the coast. The SE water also seems to be coastal with no fresh water. This clearly implies that we are in a corner with little room to our SW and scouting priority should be N and E. Hopefully we can spare a warrior to uncover the rest of the land S and W since I'd rather have the scout head off E after he's gotten to the stone.

Nice! I'd say we need a bit more information before making a decision, but that spot in the NE is a beautiful second city, with dry corn and plenty of food. 1W of the corn is good - if we were Creative I'd suggest on the banana, but I think that will be too slow given that we're not. Other option is 1NW of the corn depending on what else is around, but borrowing the wheat from the capital would work given that we expect the capital to max out relatively quickly.

There's a few turns grace before Animals start showing up (maybe 5?) so he should be OK).

Good to know, losing the scout early isn't quite as bad since we've already got a reasonable 2nd city candidate scouted but I'd like him to see the sights, meet some barbarians (both immediately hostile and the other players) and live to a ripe old age of 3000 or so.

This picture sums up the turn.

Scout moved and discovered nothing or interest. Tim Nice But Dim felt it necessary to leave a sign just in case he forgot something rather elementary. I'm not sure how accurate it is since I don't remember a jungle separating England and Scotland but Tim insisted it must be true.

Couldn't resist the lure of the hill vision and moved the scout to the desert hill instead of getting mired in forests.

More Wheat, a single Spice which puts 2 different Calendar resources nearby and vision on a northern and eastern river. I don't know if the eastern one is right on the coast from what I can see but I hope not. Scout will go S-SW next turn.

No report last turn, just moved scout and uncovered nothing of great interest.

T5-6

With borders popping and the scout moving further south we have a lot more map info. Here's the zoomed out map of our immediate vicinity.

Dye and Corn to the NW, but unfortunately the forests block a lot of cultural vision so didn't get anymore info to the south. I did finally note that part of one of the Silk tiles has tundra on it so at least one of the tiles down there isn't so good. Being this close to tundra and jungle makes me think this map is very short and long with people probably being placed diagonally next to each other with the jungle separating them.

Here's the area around our scout.

Another good area for a heavily cottaged city, I'm not really sure where I'd like to settle in this area yet and would really like more info south (probably gained from our first warrior since scout will head east) before deciding how best to use the tiles around the Stone.

This turn also saw the first score increases, probably Agriculture and Mining being discovered.

Terror can you play the turn today? Bit unwell so would rather not make any silly errors. All you need to do is move the scout I think.

I'll play it later this evening if you haven't done so.

Yep, no worries. Will play it when I get home.
