greenline gets rushed and eliminated on turn whatever: Huyana Capac of Mali

turn 9: worker begins camping deer, will be finished in 4 turns.

scout found a plains cow and a wet grass wheat by the banana. Now we're talking! That will be one crazy city down the line.

Looks like Sian grew to size 2 this turn, and picklepickl finally expanded borders.
OR they each finally finished researching a tech, because those also add to your score. duh
Sian got the same increases that I have, so I think he also went hunting->agri if the starts are mirrored.
No idea what Jowy or Picklepickl went for.

turn 10: discovered agriculture, set research to pottery.

this area keeps getting better and better.

turn 11: capital finished warrior, started another due in 5 turns. sent warrior to explore more around the deer/ivory area

the food bonanza never ends!

turn 12: I'm glad these early turns are flying by because they're so boring. capital grew to size 2, worker finished camping the deer so the capital will grow to size three in 2 turns and then start another worker. pottery due in three turns.

Here's a potential city layout for the west, complete with pink dot on a hill that's probably going to annoy one of my neighbors. Order of settling would be blue, grey, pink. Probably after the double cow city to the south. it's also neat because each city has two food resources in the first ring, so I don't have to settle garbage cities that cannabalize food resources from other cities solely to work mines and whip workers.

turn 13: why are other people posting in picklepickl and jowy's threads but not mine? maybe I should post some interesting strategic decisions and thoughts about the map. or I could just keep on trucking. Surely they'll both lose steam with the game at some point so I can win the post count competition that way.

moved the worker over to the corn, which will take a couple turns due to the forests in the way.

more seafood!

Without forests it would take just as long! Where are you putting the first city then? [PARTY POPPER]

Good point

I'm still preferring to put my first city by the cows (right where the scout is standing here]

The only thing that might change my mind at this point would be oddly placed copper. But even then I can just tech Archery early.

No barbs remember. You only need to protect yourself against the others smile

That's what I was worried about, though. Jowy of Egypt is pretty scary early on.

turn 14: capital grew to size 3, started another worker.

scouting the deer area more revealed a fur to go with the ivory. The main issue with settling here is that the place will be pretty food poor without a border expansion for the fish.

The information that there was a big saltwater coast with seafood makes this area much trickier to settle. Ideally you want a city on the red dot to grab the crabs and lighthouse the two lakes, but that'll make the city start off much slower with only the grass cows to initially work with.

I think I'll make the second city the pigs/fish city to the northeast and borrow the capital's deer to start it off quickly. The alternative of orphaning so much food just doesn't sit well with me.
