Due date began five minutes ago. No sign of boss mob spawn as yet.
Our first came 16 days before due date, so we expected this one weeks ago. Nope. Has her own agenda.
(For any not in the know, baby "due dates" do not carry the meaning implied by the nomenclature. There's a four-weeks-long "normal range" they call Full Term, from 38 to 42 weeks. Most American doctors now prefer to induce if 41 weeks are reached, as there are some risks that start ticking up past the risks of inducing, by that point. So really, in the US, there's a 3-week span when baby can come any time, at the end of which the docs kick start the clock.)
You have no idea how many inquiries are coming our way tonight. "Baby here yet?" "Did that little one arrive?" "So-- is it a boy or a girl?" ... Yeah.
No sign of boss mob spawn as yet. Sorry!

Hi Kylearan

I see our lvl-differences are still in play. I reached Elite Homestead at lvl 57. Then I went and cleared East-marches & the Craigs Crags. I had visited East Marches before at lvl 52 and boy where those lvl 60+ mobs hard ( My death-count is now by 52 )

Yeah resistance is a must. When I ventured into East Marches the first time I did mostly on the poison attacks as I had -13% then. Nowadays with enough resistance that is no longer a problem.
Sirian all the best to you and you wife and the new to spawn/already spawned Boss mob

Already spawned. She ported in with over two hours to spare, on her due date. So much for my explanation about how low the probability is to show on the median date.
See, this is why she's the boss mob spawn. At just minutes old, score was already boss 1 dad 0.

Congratulations Sirian, and all the best to your family! I hope life lets you spend a lot of time together with your family while the critters are so small. I know I enjoyed that period of my life very much, although I don't really miss the turbulent nights.

P.S.: Only lvl 30 with a rifle+dual wield daggers Saboteur which probably will never survive Elite+, but hey, I'm enjoying it tremendously!
P.P.S.: Hey Rowain! Another name I remember!

So I started a new character to try out a new build. Main attack is Blackwater Cocktail (which is a tossed fire bomb). At clvl 9, the base skill is already maxed out -- and relative to some other skills I could get, it tops out at a rather weak level. However, it does have two attached follow up skills, which I can put points in to build up the attack, and there are plenty of zodiac stars and constellations which can boost my fire and burn and chaos damage numbers.
The layering of the skills in this game are done so much better than I've seen in any previous ARPG design.
I don't know yet if this weaker-looking build will be viable to the end of the top difficulty. It may or may not. But there is a good chance that it will be, especially if I attach a zodiac ability to proc off the Cocktail ability, making it a 2-in-1. The "toss a bomb" part of the mechanic makes it a MUCH LESS accurate ability than firing a rifle, shooting magic missiles, or any melee build. So it's harder to use, but that also makes it different and interesting. It does have one strength that the others lack, and that is the ability to target a location and let a mob run in to the fire -- and it also leaves a burning fire on the ground that mobs can run in to. Some bosses that even my glass cannon Arcanist has trouble with might be easier to kite and toss bombs at than to shoot at directly. Only time will tell!

I'm approaching level 50 with an arcanist/soldier build. Focusing MM with all the accompanying skills, and rolling in mostly +elemental damage (400ish each element). I just broke into the 4th act so should be done soon, it will be interesting to see how it fares on the next diff.
