How is it that you check the google form results page? Found looking at what other people thought pretty interesting.

The compilation page of the game 2 predictions so far should be at this link.

Hi Sulla, the current bracket link doesn't work at the moment

Sorry about that Yuris. The "current bracket" link needs to be updated after every game. I had updated it further down in the thread but not in the initial post. It should be fixed now. smile

I like how out of 59 votes Churchill has got not a single vote for winner.

Here's the written report for Game One for anyone who couldn't watch the live recording. Let's see if I can keep these coming in a timely fashion as we do more games.

Awesome, thanks for writing that up. I don't have the time to watch livestreams at the moment, so this makes it much more fun to follow how the competition is going.

Thanks for the write up, and thanks for running this event, Sullla! Game one was very entertaining, and an excellent start to this season. I hope the games continue to be this much fun. smile

Those barb galleys and Stalin's response were hilarious. Little oddities in the AI really emerge and become obvious in these contests.

I really missed those in Season 2, incidentally.

I think that has more to do with us being able to pierce the fog of war.

It becomes so much clearer if you play the AI in any Civ game without fog of war. You can suddenly see the AI getting roads/railroads and irrigation out of thin air in Civ 2 (that's the one Civ game where the AI gets blatant direct tile improvement cheats), or watch the AI abruptly shifting its military towards any undefended city you have in Civ 3.

Likewise! I know they're a lot of work, but they're really great! Thanks for posting about the first game here!

True - even in Civ4, I remember the first time I got a sentry chariot into a peaceful AI's lands and watched in amazement as the AI sent its mounted units running around in circles inside its own borders every turn for utterly mysterious reasons.
