Questions I'm too afraid to ask scary retail computer store clerks

I very rarely play in fpp mode, it's always zoomed out 3D perspective mode ala Diablo.

I actually like to play the game solo (and with henchies when needed) the first time around. This makes the game more immersive and gives me a better perspective of the game, since I have total control of the game and pacing.

Don't worry about being behind. I still feel like I am a year behind myself. It's all about fun, and we promise not to make too much fun of you [Image: tongue.gif]

I got some sort of a warning saying my graphics card isn't supported.

The screen didn't freeze up on loading or anything though, so that's a good sign smile.

I moved around a little, it seemed to run ok.

I was trying to write Iron without writing Iron. It'll have to do.

It'll be temporary anyway I imagine.

Thanks again for being so friendly and all.

Invite sent. In case you don't know how to accept, just press the "G" button to bring up the guild page and it'll show the invitation, just click accept and you're in.

Considering the low requirements GW has for graphics, I think you're more than overdue for an upgrade.

I/Eye Run Hureg. Or you could go chemistry style with Fe Hureg.

While that's certainly true a lot of the time (more often than not), there are some pretty good people out there to play with. We had a few groups tonight that I really enjoyed playing with and most of the people were random pickups. Once you start talking with people and make it more than just a robot factory, things tend to get better. In GW it's more a matter of building a balanced team that can work together, which means spending a few extra minutes in the starting area before heading out. And players can/will make the game so much more bearable than henches, if only because of better skill selection.

One of the reasons for that, I think, was back when the game was released you had to worry about attribute refunds so you could re-assign them if you wanted to try something different. Not anymore. Now you can raise/lower them as much as you want. The only downside to the whole thing is you can't lower them outside town anymore.

I'll be on a lot during the summer, as will a lot of the other people in the guild. Unless I'm in the middle of something, I'll be there and if you need someone to hang out with in the starter area (since most of us are pretty far past that), I can give up my PvP slot for a while. Hopefully not for too long since I've been having a blast in the new arenas lately and the PvP slot is good for using oddball builds you wouldn't think of bringing into PvE.

Well, I wouldn't mind doing the Tyria missions with my ritualist to have fun. Only problem with that though is it's cut off from the early missions. Tyria's PvE was a lot more fun than Cantha's, and a lot less bland as far as surroundings went. The only place I really enjoyed the graphics was Shing Jea island, which is the starting area and where you spend about 5% of your time.

Being a year behind is nothing! One of my characters has only done the first mission, Post-Searing -- I've been devoting my time to other characters. I'd be happy to accompany you on a more-or-less regular basis, once Seven Samurai has wrapped up.
On the perspective issue, I have never, ever, ever played in FPP - I'm always zoomed out so I can see more of what's going on. Upgrade your video card, and give the 3rd person perspective a try! nod

It's worth noting that according to Gaile Gray they are planning to open up the early missions to all chars (even off-continent ones) so that people can get both Tyrian and Canthan explorer titles. However off-continent chars won't get mission rewards for the early missions.

Didn't see anything about this sort of thing applying to skill quests, though. You're still best off to play any core class starting in Tyria.
