[Spoilers] The Golem Factory: Beeri Bawl of the Luchuirp

Sciz Wrote:Started throwing up siege workshops in Ithralia and Mutanbo, when I get catapults maybe I can delete some warriors since I need to cut back on the upkeep i'm paying.

Catapults sound silly good in ffh - they have 80% withdrawal chance... Am I missing something or are they awesome?

nope they're just great

only problem for me right now will be their movement, I don't have roads since i've been relying on 2-moving on hills to defend my cities, so i'll need exploration after festivals I think.

Also enchantment I adepts don't only repair golems, they repair catapults too, which is a great deal for the luchuirp

They are very good. But they are very slow and can't get hasted or take mobility promotions.

Quote:Uberfish has open borders with Mist, but it was only for Mist to move through a lone sons of asena way back when and I'm pretty sure he told me directly that he wouldn't let the wolf with the pieces of barnaxus to go through, so if he has actually let Mist do that, i'm gonna be a bit angry.

Uh...

Sounds kind of like he's the culprit. If he has open borders with the Doviello despite not having a trade connection, my number one thought would be for military access.

With Mist locking us down for the moment, there isn't that much we can do to Uberfish. But I would say that the wolf has almost certainly run right through the elven forests and into the Doviello homeland.

Other even less risky ways to get collateral exist in FFH.

The other thing is that for a lot of military forces siege weapons are too slow. They can't be hasted or take the mobility promotion. Obviously not a problem for a Luchuirp player.

fits well with the Luchuirp then! lol

actually when I sent my mail that he wouldn't use his open borders with mist to let the wolf through he never actually responded

lol me bang

i just thought he wouldn't because we've had good relations all game and I'm not any sort of threat to him, it'd actually be good for him if I got him back since i'd be able to hit back the Doviello harder which Uberfish should want since they're neighbors but okay.

Doviello aren't a long term threat. Not really. Without any economic traits, missing out on libraries and locked into an early war that he won't win easily Mist will 100% never come anywhere near the tech leaders in this game. And although he has two pretty good war traits, he doesn't have any particularly deadly unique units.

The Luchuirp on the other hand... Long term, even with an early war as a set back, we can develop into a deadly little civ. We've got the best economic trait in the game. The golden hammers to help us with production and lightbulbing. And out golems are strong late game units.

So supporting Mist is an easy ask for him. He wants this conflict going on for as long as possible so that both of his neighbours are occupied while his slow to mature elves keep growing. He wants the Doviello to have the upper hand, but not win too easily, because they are the lesser threat long term.

All this is just from a game play perspective, but I haven't seen much of the diplomacy aside from the Mist declarations.

It might be time to discuss terms with Mist to get Barnaxus back. Because at the moment it looks like both of you are running very heavily at the bottom the pack.

I've already tried discussing it with him, but he still wants insane compensation to give it back. I was okay with something small, but he wanted 250 gold or something which for me right now would take like 20 turns of 0% research to reach.

lol, got a reply from Mist and once again he completely denies signing peace at all, and mentions how well this is going for him. I sent him quite a harsh reply I guess, but his delusions were kinda annoying me.

Imo I think he's just stalling for time because uberfish is gonna enter the war as well at some point. At least that's what I think.
