RB Pitboss #2 [SPOILERS] - Pacal II of Greece! (Jowy & Yazilliclick)

And then there was peace.

Short-term plans:
- Re-settle Sparta.
- Settle commerce city on Corinth River.
- Plan what to do with the units.
- Talk to KA.

Had a chat with Sullla. Pretty basic stuff. Tipped them that Dantski was the one who suggested the attack while we were talking about the war. They might think it was a slip up, but I want them not to trust Dantski. Hell, I'd be happy if they march up to Dantski's border right away with their troops.

Will attempt to fix relations with India (A lurker once asked if I thought that'd really work after attacking them, I guess we'll see soon!). I'll be a small country from now on which means that diplo relations is the only thing that'll prevent my neighbours from invading. I'm going to try to stay close with Mediterranean Alliance, although it'll surely be harder now that we don't have an united enemy. It's curious that Ottomans were very quick to suggest them capturing two of my cities when I told my allies about India's attack.

Anyone experienced with cultural victories? I've never tried to win by culture before, but this might be the perfect time to try it out. Is it too late for me to aim for that?

It definitely isn't too late. With a culture victory you want to get a food heavy site to generate great artists, a lot of religions to build cathedrals from, free speech civic and good commerce heavy cities so that when the culture slider is brought into play you generate phenomenal culture. Early wonders can give you a good start, but aren't vital.

The trouble with doing it in this game is that people can see that you're going for a culture victory and kill you. Losing even one of your legendary city sites makes the victory condition impossible to achieve, and humans will raze them so there is no chance of recapture.

I would put the odds of a successful culture victory in a game like this as astronomical.

You want T-Hawk, I think he tries to win everything that way.

Hey, I just checked my HOF and it has 8 space wins to 7 culture wins. :neenernee

(We'll ignore that half the space wins were OCC and another was a duplicate play of Adv 35.)

India settled two south of old Sparta. I'll have a settler ready next turn but I'll just settle to the east instead. Gotta write some emails and stuff but I've had a terrible headache for three days now frown

Getting two settlers from allies and two from myself for new cities. Settling south of Corinth next time I log in. It'll be a commerce city with rice, sheep, sugar and riverside tiles. Rice is already improved. Next one will go between that city and the old barb city so India can't settle there (not much space for a good city but it'd be a handy gateway to ex-bysantine lands for India). Then next one northeast of Corinth. Fourth one will go on outer islands or Centralia.

India's responding to my emails and seem fairly honest in that they don't have plans to attack me. They also believe I was working under A/K's orders. I'm considering what to answer to that: Tell the truth or tell them that it was indeed all A/K's doing, which might strengthen my relationship with India. Probably going to tell the truth. I won't betray my allies, that's for sure, but I'm really aiming to be friendly with both India and my allies at the same time.

For some reason I think India might be more angry to A/K than me. Now why would that be.. Perhaps they had a deal earlier, for example to attack me from two sides, but A/K was just keeping it as an option and decided to instead side with me and help me fight India.

Won't that tank your economy and how are you going to get workers to support them?

Nah. I can run like 40% science atm, and once I gift those troops to A/K then I'll be even stronger financially. This war cost me two production cities and one border city that never even had an improved tile. Now I'm going to settle atleast three commerce cities. I'll be even better off than I was before financially, though I'd LOVE to have a good hammer city like ex-Sparta.. Too bad there's really no site for that. Atm Corinth is my only city with somewhat good hammers due to iron+horses, but even that is a hybrid hammer/commerce city because the riverside tiles are cottaged. As for workers, I have some lying around that don't really have much to do atm. Remember these cities won't be settled at the exact same turn, so I don't need to worry about them all at the same time. I think I'll be fine, but never hurts to queue up some extra workers. Especially when I'm expansive.

Okay, I was under the impression that you were bordering on bankrupt. Good that you're getting along and didn't compeltely give up.

HRE happened to message that they too might get a longer NAP with India soon. It's not a bad thing if we all get a longer NAP with them, but what worries me is that India told me that I'm the only one they'd sign a longer NAP with. Why would they lie about it? Or, rather, what are they hiding.
