Xenu/Brick, I'm going to be out of town Wednesday PM through Sunday night. Can one of you play the turns? I'll give a report tomorrow, I've been lazy lately. Xenu, you might even take a turn in 49 for me, probably more than one won't be needed, given our turn pace.
[SPOILERS]The Tyrant realizes that once the world burns it gets really boring....

You'd be better off asking Ceil to play 49 for you, I'm only vaguely aware of what's happening over there. But I can play this one, we got 'phracts yet? Yeah just give me an overview of where we are and I'll take this for a few days.

Basically we've been building up our economy, laying down cottages and saving cash. We overflowed to finish our library last turn, so I'll turn on tech this turn. We should have enough gold to run 100% for ~8-9 turns, if costs don't go up too much when I found the border city next to Sisu. Iron Working, then Math on the way to Currency, unless we have a need come up in another area. The turn has rolled, so I'll play that and see if anything else comes to mind. But, seeing as to how your naming scheme is still on this game, you ought to at least keep up with events enough to give some advice from time to time.
I read all the turn reports, I just haven't logged into the game in weeks. That's why my situational awareness is low. I'm going to guess that after I play a few turns I'll have some feedback and unwanted suggestions.

Eh, I can hardly blame you (entirely) for not being current. I just realized I haven't posted a report in four turns.
T98 T99 Nadda. T100 T101 T102 City Count, in order of current score, with a couple of notes from the diplo screen: Susu: 6 --> HR (Wine) suttree: 11 retep: 11 --> Currency (4gpt...crashed economy?) Molach: 9 --> IW, Currency WilliamLP: 9 --> Calendar (Sugar/Spices/Banana. Also, Gold/Gems. Seriously???) BGN: 7, #8 next turn. Technologically backward, money in the bank for ~9t. wetbandit: 6 (Offered Cow for surplus Ivory again) Oxy: 6, building up an army. Seems to have been invaded by WilliamLP. Suttree took the barb city from under Oxy's (and my) nose. Kuro: 8, including the sheep/clams island city that I'm looking to take. Azza: 6 Conclusion: Long term, we're doomed. Things should get better in the short term as we start hacking out the jungle, but we're so far behind the 8-ball here it's ridiculous. Look at our cities. In all of our expansion, we have exactly two cities with multiple food resources. Tyler has the lone dry rice, The Boathouse a dry corn. At least we didn't burn a settler on The Boathouse. We settled on stone for 0 food, but got the Mids. What We Have and We Steal are the only decent food cities beyond Mister Love and Happy Face, but We Steal is a vulnerable 1 tile island that will only be productive truly when we get Moai in there, so I'll try to worker whip/overflow there for the Moai ASAP. ML and HF I've done the best I can to maximize what production/commerce potential that we do have, but all these other weak cities have really dragged us behind the tech/expansion pace. And we have very, very poor production, overall, combined with very weak food surpluses, at least until we can farm the jungle. Happy Face and What We Have are going to have to suffice for producing units. I don't think that's going to be good enough. Bleh.
Sent in gchat (separately) to both Brick and Xenu. Posted here for thread spam and for no excuses "I didn't know what to do and I ruined the game" posterity:
Quote:alrighty, i'm out of town. I had hoped to get another turn to play and then type up a report with some thoughts for you guys, but basically you can figure everything out from signs in game and from the last report. Later!
Got it, will play whenever the turn rolls.

T103 - Seemed safe enough so I welcomed Swamp People into the world.
What a shit hole. The only nice thing I can say about it is that it didn't invalidate other spots around it to the north and east. I love that so much of our expansion zone is in jungle, and even more that Sisu thought it would be great to settle this way too. I know he has other neighbor problems but I can guarantee he'll have problems with us now too. Tough, we have nothing better to do that throw down awful cities on our crappy land. Note that I screwed up the axe movement because I didn't see what you were trying to do until after I moved it (and the workers). Oh well, no one really cares anyway and they're probably not going to attack us with what they have on hand down there. We can't be attacked for three turns anyway so we'll have the city covered better by then if for some reason Sisu(b) wants to fight and die. Well this looks like a fun plan. I endorse it so much that I followed it. I don't guess we know what Kuro has in his island city but we're assuming that two chariots and an amphibious axe should be enough to do the job. By the way, if we manage to lose that galley our defenses are basically zero in this area and we'll have no way to reinforce. We're also taking a bit of a risk moving everything in the area against Kuro and leaving two crappy cities undefended. Then again, if someone takes them it's fewer cities we have to operate in this game.... Yeah, we're running 100% science and are 5th in GNP. I think at least 2 other guys are doing binary research and are currently in a spending phase, but no idea if the other two ahead of us are doing the same or are beating us at break even research. Well that would be depressing, wouldn't it? No commentary really about your gameplay over the last almost 30 turns, I don't see how this could be going any better really, short of us having already attacked Sisu and caught him completely unprepared, taking a lot of his good land at little cost. You can micro this thing tightly if you want, or just play for fun, I don't think it's going to matter much either way. What was it an unnamed player (due to the ongoing game) said in PB9 about polishing a turd? Yeah. Anyway, I didn't feel like doing math tonight so I didn't do it, but you should check Dirt Road, it's size 2 and working the copper tile instead of coast when it just finished a lighthouse. That's probably wrong, but I thought a 12 turn granary build while not growing would overtake slowbuilding it over the next 6,000 years if we just worked lighthouse coast. You can fix it if you want to, or not. And I know we have zero production to spare but do you think it would be worth building the Great Wall somewhere for fail gold? Unless we don't think anyone is ever going to build it. We have money in the bank for research for now so we don't need it right away, but with the way our economy sputters it's not a bad idea if we get a chance later on in one of our good cities. Unless you've already done this, in which case disregard.... Briefly, TGW has been built to within a few hammers in Happy Face. It's been sitting almost done for about 12 turns. I haven't had a chance to build it in Mister Love since I've built work boat or settler or whatever there. I had hoped someone would build it by now. When ML needs to go vertical (always) and isn't building defense (seldom), build into the wall if you want.
T104 - Was gone or busy all day so a late turn played and a quick report.
We had an offer from Retep, feel free to reoffer, I didn't know the context so I declined this. Out west exploring, ignore the barbarian spear pictured in the top right, he suicided against our spear doing no damage. Chariot can move back to the SE and resume sentry duty now. Worker road is underway -- you'll want to check city build queues everywhere to make sure someone is building the settler that goes here. Didn't know where it was supposed to be build so I just put every city on an axe In the east still catching up from mismoving the axe/workers, no harm done. Rather than wasting two more worker turns I put down a useless road and the workers can move onto the rice next turn. Chariot will have to cover them for now. Pay attention to Sisu(b)'s chariot, it's under our axe here. We finished Iron Working but I logged out without thinking to see where the iron spawned, if any. I selected Mathematics next since I assume we're heading for Currency but feel free to change. Demos with Mathematics selected: So only two turns played in the time you were gone, you didn't really miss anything. I don't think I took a picture but I moved the units around in the northwest for the Kuro expedition. It's on schedule up there, just be mindful to play after Kuro for the next few turns if you can. He played a double turn when he rolled it T102/T103, so when I rolled T103 to T104 I just logged out, so none of our T104 moves have been done other than adding new items to city build queues when things finished from last turn. If he'll play first we won't have to worry about further double moves (unless he rolls the turn again). Anyway, not a big deal, best effort here, it isn't like we can tell him we have to play last without giving away the punchline.
