"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

Steamworld Dig 2 is pretty fun game honestly. The music is good. It's pretty chill overall. Quirky vibe. I dug it.

The Switch Eshop had Dark Souls for $20 today, so I picked it up. Due to state tax, I couldn't buy it without using $25 from my Amazon gift card, so I got Transistor with the remainder. You might see a few Dark Souls posts in that thread when I get around to it. Hopefully Transistor has a line comparable to Bastion's "The Ura feared the gods. We turned them into toys, put their faces on our walls".

EPIC Games store has a very good deal through January 6, 2021. They have their normal holiday sale, but in addition, you get unlimited $10 off coupons for any game priced $14.99 or higher, even those already on sale.
The sweet spot for this are the $20 rouge-lite type games that are sale for $14.99, and then are reduced to $4.99. There are several new release games on there that I have not seen priced below $15 on Steam that you can pick up for $5. I bought the following: Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2- $10 Death's Door- $5 Chicory- $10 Kena: Bridge of Spirits- $20 Axiom Verge- $5 Inscryption- $6 Grime- $10 Overall, pretty insane deals to be had.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker is free on Epic for the next 16 hours, I tend to get overwhelmed by complex non-linear RPGs, but heard a lot of good things about the game from fans of the genre
Kingmaker was in a really rough state when it first released, but it should be significantly better now, and has one of those Baldur's Gate-length epic storylines. The sequel, Wrath of the Righteous, is even better, particularly concerning the quality of the writing, so it's worth trying out Kingmaker if for no other reason than to see if you'd enjoy WotR.
I've been browsing the Epic Games holiday sale and see Spiritfarer is half off ($14.99). The art style looks gorgeous to me, but has anyone here played it and would recommend it? It looks story-driven and I'd love a good story to enjoy. Should I jump on the sale?
There's currently a large Switch Eshop sale, and I picked up Hades for about $15.00.

What do you advise? With the caveats that 1) I don't know what you'll find interesting 2) don't know what counts as inexpensive and 3) don't know what you've played, here's a list: Darkest Dungeon: $3.74 Prey: $7.49 Slay the Spire: $8.49 Civilization IV: $7.49 If you give more information about your tastes, you'll get more personalized suggestions. I can also suggest more games currently on sale for less than US$5. Check out those 4 and see which is closest to your preference.
There is no way to peace. Peace is the way.
