Power spike/global power show OT4E's mass-whip a knight push? I do recall once doing something similar with a wave of courthouse builds to spook my neighbor into a NAP. But I wouldn't bet on it, you're right to prep for total war.

OT4E didn't give peace. But he did declare on StarDoor, so maybe he's not gunning for me.

Still, I wasn't going to take chances. We whipped everywhere. Feudalism in 2; after that I might go Engineering ahead of Guilds.

Well, you and OT4E are the only ones who can do something about that unilaterally...

And yet it seems we're both so terrified of each other that we're only timidly nibbling at the edges.

I really don't know why he seems to be afraid of me, though.  I mean -- I thought he was going to attack me, but he is playing defensive and not even probing at me.  Further, he's not (yet) taken a StarDoor city despite declaring a few turns back.  So ... he must have his units tied down waiting for me to approach.  And I'm doing exactly the same with my stack: playing defensively waiting for him to attack me.

This turn I broke a few units away to take StarDoor's city of NintendoDS.  I think that I absolutely have to take that spot before OT4E, because otherwise he'll just have a fantastic forward position into my southeast and then all the gains I took off StarDoor will be in jeapordy.  Really, I'm starting to think I won't have to attack OT4E at all, even if he goes after Nyles.  Because with how the east is shaping up, it is a real possibility that it will be easier to push eastward and gain territory enough to catch up with OT4E.

Never thought I'd say this, but God Bless Kim Jong Un.

Turn 136



We kicked off the golden age this turn. I think I really need to push infrastructure - particularly courthouses - as the economy has severely dipped. But the path I'm taking will allow me some flexibility in choosing either to push for economic or warefare. The first part of the plan is to get to Guilds, although our ever-increasing costs have caused progress there to slow. Plus, I've been taking some StarDoor land that is pretty far away. (Note to Self: Lurkers haven't seen the cities you've taken, take a screenshot for next turn.)

Right now I'm debating between Building Wealth or building courthouses in my biggest cities. The difference is Guilds in 2 or Guilds in 3. But after Guilds I want to be able to get Compass and Optics both done in short order. Because the second part of the plan is to bulb Astronomy. I have 2 cities set up with that goal in mind:

OT4E is still in his GA and his power continues to grow at scary rates. The only thing keeping this game from being a concession in the next 20 turns is the vastness of the map. That other hub has plenty of time to feel like they have an opportunity to do something before he kills us all
