[Spoilers] The Golem Factory: Beeri Bawl of the Luchuirp

Good point on building a scout, Ithralia can do that while I wait for festivals. Might be good to bring along when I take the barb city too, since the spider might be hanging around trying to pick off a warrior or two.

I'll make a big(ish) report in two turns. Next turn i'm revolting to aristocracy, so i'll be in anarchy that turn, so i'll do the report with pics the turn after instead.

And yeah Uberfish is definitely the logical target. We've got long term NAPs with Mist, and Ilios is already ganged up by several civs, if it stays that way it's good for us since it means he won't attack us.

Revolted to aristocracy, at end of turn i had +26gpt at 20%, so i'll be able to really dial up the research now! Then with festivals in a few turns it'll get even better!

Full report next turn

Okay so first we have two overview shots, first the north, then the south. I added some dotmaps into these pics showing where future cities will be settled.

North:

Red dot overlaps quite a bit with Mutanbo and Ithralia, but it'll be a decent city. Lots of riverside grassland for good commerce, and can borrow plains hill mines from Mutanbo to the east or Ithralia to the south to build some stuff.

Building courthouses to reduce maintenance and get some more gold for research.

South:

Purple dot is a city I really want to settle, but I'm not sure if I will. I'm wasting a lot of tiles there, and since Ilios isn't creative anymore I should be able to grab some tiles from him there, like the mana node. I'd need a religion for that though, maybe. But I need to make sure I can defend myself if I settle there first, since it will probably antagonize Ilios, even though it's much closer to my cap than his.

Black borders are the barb city i'm hoping to take, of course. It's a decent city and gives me Earth mana as well.

Yellow dot is also a good city, with great commerce from riverside grassland farms. Gonna need Bronze Working for it to be good though, so i'm prolly gonna finish researching BW after all before going to engineering.

Now to the cities:

Ithralia:

Chugging along well now. Currently getting more farms, and because fruits of Yggdrasil i'm gonna be able to chop down a lot of forest without getting unhealthy. Currently building a catapult because I'm waiting for festivals to roll in, and it'd be good to have for taking the barb city.

Cotton Valley:

Not much to say about it. When it finally finishes its sculptor's studio it will be able to grow its borders south and I'll be able to chop out a market with the jungle down south, and even work a mine if I need to. Currently farming the mana node, because 3f/4c is better than 2f/5c.

Mutanbo:

I wonder if I should've revolted to pacifism with Aristocracy. I really think I should've. Not building much military now anyways, and a 50% boost to great engineers would be really swell. Should I revolt when I get the chance? Another turn of anarchy but it might be worth it. Anyways Mutanbo is a neat little town, good production and commerce. Three more riverside grassland farms to be made, and a hill to mine. I can get some nice 1f/3h/1c riverside plains lumbermills too, but I don't want to get archery yet because it screws up the great engineer bulbing list.

Tia'ran:

Decent town. Will never have great production, but the fruits of Yggdrasil are great, it'll have okay commerce, and the marble will really help for building Gargoyles with +25% speed. I'll prolly keep the two plains forests as they are, but farm the rest as plains and tundra riverside farms with sanitation are still 3f/4c which is good. even without sanitation 2f/4c is pretty good too. Yggdrasil will probably never get better though, as I need Commune with Nature and Way of the Forests to add food to it, and that's probably not worth it. Maybe in the future if they are 1-turn techs though.

Currently there are four wars going on:
Amelia vs Ilios
Darrel vs Ilios (Though they may have peace already, I can't see as i don't have contact with Darrel)
Serdoa vs Ilios
Mist vs Sciz (but this one is of course fake)

Demographics:

Still have plenty of catching up to do, and the snowball will get bigger and bigger for those ahead, but it's better than before anyways. As I get more and more improvements up and get those 3-4 cities up I should be in better shape.

Don't feel like posting graphs, but Ilios is the leader in every category.

And here's the domestic screen since everybody seems to love it:

Marble only adds +25% production boost to Gargoyles not double - still definitely worth having though!

And whats all this fake war business....

Oops, edited!

My war with Mist is just for exp gaining now, we will negotiate battles where we get exp, which will help my Barnaxus a lot when I get it. Also the point of us still being officially at war with each other is that this will hopefully help us stay unnoticed to the other civs, as no one will see us as dangers.

Got festivals, starting Markets in Mutanbo and Tia'ran, 2t build in the former, 3t in the latter. Finishing up my catapult in Ithralia (2t) then a 2t market there as well. When the catapult is done I will move my army down to the barbarian city. A cat, 2 WGs and 6 warriors or so.

Tech is on BW now, 5t to completion. That will be followed by warfare and a revolt to military state.

After that 2t exploration, 7t writing, then maths and engineering.

So about 25 turns until engineering?

Something like that yeah

i might use a GE to shave off 5-8 turns, since I should have two by the time i start researching it, and i'll use the second to build the guild of hammers

Yeah, I was assuming using a GE to bulb part of engineering.

Sounds pretty good. After that, we can focus back towards sorcery.
