MJW (ya that one) Wrote:Too bad team 1 will win easyly ... You are very silly that other teams have a legit chance win team 1 has more than double beakers. You are irrationally defending this game.
Tell me where I'm defending this game.
Criticizing this game and calling the conclusion foregone is like shooting fish in a barrel. I'm just surprised that you're managing to miss.

Well, ASM at least thinks he has a shot at the culture victory (GChat):

all our guess work indicate T1 and T3 are engaging in some sort of warfare

Imma gonna 25 pop draft janissaries :D
If T1 invades T3 instead...will they realize their danger in time?

Oh Sulla
Even Divine Right doesn't twig him to their culture plan.

The power of the epiphany will be overwhelming when it happens. In the meantime, if Team 1 makes a dedicated attack on the Real Men of Genius and the RMoG are the only players apparently aware of what Team Culture is up to...maybe this has a chance after all. Especially if, with Sullla's recent post, Team 1 realizes that WK wasn't planning to attack Sunrise and they decide to go after the Team 4 territory now, that may give Team Culture enough time to get the ball rolling.
Does anyone know how soon they'd be able to start running slider and make a real run at the win? Once they do that the other teams will surely notice the victory conditions from F8 and see the culture numbers piling up.
Edit: This is all assuming the Real Men don't capture Milkshake and generally wreck the plan in the meantime.

I'm pretty sure even with the tremendous blind spot Sulla shows that the poor delusional souls on the RMoG will scupper Team 2's plans. I'm a fan of Davy's excellent updates, so it's really heartbreaking to me to watch Team 3 pour their hearts into this thing when the conclusion is so far beyond forgone. Sulla is doing the usual We Can Still Lose This thing that most players in an unbreakable lead tend to do around here, maybe to create drama? I don't know. The game spreadsheet "Victors: Team 1, Concession, date TBD" is still accurate.

I got sick...
I'm sorry that I told you that you where defending this game. I thought you where angry at me and it is hard to get angry unless you are defending this game.
Team 1 not seeing teams 2 culture plan will make them waste time on the astormey tech. This is not very important. What is important is that it will be hard for spullla to change gears and admit that they wasted time. They will understand team 2 is not going for a culture win when that team does not get a tech in a reasonable time. I think team 1 is going after team 3 because of the update calling the next ten turns very imporant. If they are attacking anyone else other than team 3 then those words make no sense.
With oxford spullla's capatial is going to get over 500 beakers alone. I'm thinking that will be much better than all the other capatials and this map is very mirrorish...

25t or so, I think, is when they'd be able to win.

antisocialmunky in Team 2 Wrote:We just finally are turning the slider up which is ~5 turns behind schedule or so. ... So far our culture values are about 288 for luddite, ~260 for lewwyn and I'm currently running ~166 but I'll go up to 210 once I have 10 artists and back in Free Speech.
So that's around 100 turns to reach the 25,000 level for the culture victory. Or if each city gets three artist bombs, 60 turns for 17k more culture. Hard to see the other teams not figuring out what's going on. Even if they don't have EP graph visibility, the F8 victories screen shows the leading culture values. But it could happen that teams 1 and 3 stay occupied with each other, each unable to spare force to conquer a city from team 2.
It would be smart to develop a backup culture city or two, to stay in the game if one of the leading three does get captured. A backup city doesn't show on the F8 screen so could stay hidden for a while.
Or, heck, Sullla could go for culture victory himself once the possibility occurs to him. That capital he's so proud of could pivot to a culture run pretty quickly.
