Molach's post #393 seems a bit off to me, its one of those large volume posts where nothing new is really put forward, and there is a subtle push for role reveals rather than just name reveals (which I am not going to agree to).

Hence for now that is where I will put my vote

Again: post 393 I started writing very early when my youngest was happily playing with his wooden trains. I usually doze at that magic 5:30 - 6:30 am time anyway so why not catch up. So didn't quite finish, but then wife & eldest wakes up, so I just submit reply to submit to their will.

The ending of my reply to Injera, asking Lewwyn about role and voting pindicator is what I would have said at 393.

And again: Noone have any reads on pindicator? Try a forum search, advanced, by posts made in gaming thread by pindicator last week. 15 posts in thread, he will appear very active on a votecount , certainly a lot more posts than me. But only mabye 2-3 with any content apart from supplying known (safe) information about setup and previous games and fluff. See for yourselves.

About whats in my 393 post, I believed and still think it's a good idea that the numbers be known, the game has 14 leaders so that is probably the number of names involved. I didn't play game and others havent either. And that there in this case is just 1 more with no name. (Zakalwe has since that claimed no name so all the unclaimed people should have names rather than title).

Is there a subtle push for role reveals there? Really? None was intended. In the event of a mass claim then I guessed 4 would claim a leader and 2 would claim no name. And to warn against auto-lynching the more suspicious of those 2, I made a point that it is possible that the evil alien already has claimed noname due to a stroke of genius or a warning in his role pm.

I am against a full reveal now, will give scum better targets to hit. Mabye later on when scum have proven villagers they need to kill first and cannot afford hunting. In such a case order is important, most suspicious first so can't sit back and wait for everyone else to claim then pick whatever.

However if there is a villager still with no name he might say that, without revealing his title/role name. Then we know either Bigger didn't use all faction leader name in the game, or someone has already lied about noname claim.

For reasons mentioned by others, my main suspects at the moment are thestick, Moldach (sp?) and Selrahc. I'll go with color="red"]Selrahc[/color] for now.

I am not happy with 'reasons mentioned by others' from a new guy and neither should you be. A few reasons pertain to 'others' previous experiences playing with me - no good for you. So why do YOU suspect me, I can reply to that.

About Selrahc, I think it unlikely wolf play in general to get so worked up and stubborn about what Lewwyn did. He is trying to get Lewwyn lynched, so if you think Selrahc is a wolf then Lewwyn is innocent - so Selrahc makes a very noticable attack on a villager. So I think Selrahc is leaning village on this issue. Just how I see this recent development.

If I'm reading correctly, your logical sequence for your Tasunke vote goes like this:
'Tasunke sounds like he's disappointed that he doesn't have a name. Too disappointed. I think he actually has a name but is denying it.'
Did you think that 'it's suspicious that he would deny having a name' or 'since he's denying that he has a name, he must be Judaa'? I find that logic suspect.
-I'm wondering why zakalwe and Serdoa agreed with this line of reasoning.
-Selrahc's obsession with aliens feels off to me.

It is absolutely profitable to us, if it is correct. I'm not going to stop doing it when we have what looks like a definitive lead.

But we don't know it's correct! You're relying on the fact that this game was themed on SMAC. Bigger's said already that names don't indicate alignment.

So he's not the worst lynch candidate, he did say he was going to analyze Catwalk's posts though, let's see what he comes up with.

Again I'm not pushing the rest here to claim, I suppose it is most likely that the 4 are HUMAN faction leaders and that the evil alien has indeed claimed no name. I think no real need to state which leader, faction could be indicative of power, so the remaining 4 might as well not say which they are. Name-seer going after the nameless 8 seems like a good idea.

Suppose Bigger might purposely have left out a name to mess with our counting too.

I still don't see how revealing names helps the village in anyway.

From the rules:

Role playing is possible for those that choose too - none of the names will give clues to the scumminess of the player, so revealing your name shouldn't help or hurt you stay alive. Having a general knowledge of Alpha Centauri won't really help you catch wolves or fool the village, although it might help you enjoy the game more

However, since both Catwalks and Tasunkes 'names' wouldn't have given me much of an indication of their role. I guess it doesn't do any harm.

Just wanted to say before night ends that I know that Conquerer Judaa Marr is a napper and is the reason I was attempting to find out who was who. I'm not a name seer though there probably is one. My special ability is basically knowing my one enemy is in the game. I am saying this now mostly because i think my opening day was pretty crap and I dropped too many "whos got the name?" hints.

Wow I can't believe I missed this on my first readthrough. What bodypart are you missing this time Lewwyn?
