Thanks for grabbing this one - I think you played it pretty much how I would have, painful but needed. Good time for me to be leaving you in charge!
Where did the worker end up? I'd suggest roading the copper rather than mining just in case the workers need to run away and come back, but I don't think we have enough worker turns.
If we're at the point where barbs can enter borders I think they will bee-line the city, so the rice should be safe, Dunkirk not so much. Should we put a turn into a bowman in Dunkirk to whip if it grows in time? The only other thing is that we could slow BoP's growth, so it doesn't grow unhappy.

Yeah, the whipped unit would appear in the city before the barb would attack

Thanks Oxy, that's good to know.
I logged in to have a look, only Ichabod is left to finish turn. I swapped Dunkirk to a bowman - it'll probably be a wasted hammer, but it's only one and there is a vague chance it'll help in two turns.
I didn't swap Bay of Pigs to grow slower because you can still change that next turn if you think it's a good idea.
Getting the workers to road the copper (if the northern barb doesn't move to the dye) will give us more flexibility here - the warriors can move into Dunkirk and the workers can go and do something else and come back to complete copper if necessary.

Bad news and good news
We have to move the workers, but the route to defend Dunkirk is clear.
We get 95% odds on defending Dunkirk and 68% odds on attacking the warrior on the rice, so the high-risk high-reward move is to move one warrior in and attack with the other.
Luckily for me I'm off now, so it's all down to you!

By the way, Mostly harmless just settled his third city. I think he must have gone for Stonehenge or the Oracle and failed...
If you have time just fill in the numbers in the tracker sheet from Civstats - I only bother to fill in the detail every now and then.

Damn, which approach should we take...? I really can't decide! ![cry cry](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/cry.gif)
2 warriors in Dunkirk:
--> we lose rice, but the city is completely safe.
Or do we go with the high-reward-high-risk option.. I guess it's smarter to mitigate the catastrophe risk, but damn I would like to keep that farm. That's 5 costly worker turns & X food that we lose there, which is a non-neglicable setback..
Aargh! Brick!! Give us a better start where we can afford to build military!

Hmm.. If you Harry happen to read this. How do you get 95 % defending odds? We have +10 strenght and +25 % city defense. Using Sareln's calculator I get only 78 %...
Does someone else know what are our defending odds in this situation? It's pretty much a game mechanic question.. And quite an important one..

In the sandbox it said something about barb city defense... stick a barb warrior right next to it and he'll attack and you can see the odds.

Are you feeling gambly? ![crazyeye crazyeye](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/crazyeye.gif) It all comes down to whether we trust that we win that 95 % fight. If we do, we might as well try our luck with the other barb. If we lose that attack, barb will probably pillage the rice and then we can kill him next turn with the defender of Dunkirk.. Of course it's possible that we would lose both fights as well..
We still have 9 hours to scratch our heads..

I had to try it in sandbox and as you said, we get extra +25 % for the barb city defense. That's interesting, I did not find anything about this when I tried to google it.. But I'm happy to have it..
You know, I'm really leaning towards gambling and I need you to stop me or I just do it..
