WW16: The Outlaws and The Olives

Where I'm going with it is that you say "You are extremely anti-town because you almost succeeded in switching votes away from someone we later found out was scum" and argue that my actions make no sense whatsoever unless I'm scum. I then type out a response to that and your response is "Yeah, but he was scum!". You have not adressed my arguments why I thought my actions made a decent amount of sense and keep shouting that thestick was scum so I must be too. You even go so far as to say that if I really was such a stupid townie I should hang anyway.

Your last line explains exactly my problem with your reasoning. As townies, we don't know who is innocent! We're guessing. Guessing wrong doesn't imply guilt, it doesn't even (necessarily) imply stupidity. Nor does guessing right necessarily imply skill, and in some cases not even innocence. This kind of black-white argumentation is strongly anti-town IMO. I don't know if it makes you scum, but I find your persistence peculiar.

Because we're guessing, unpredictable shifting of votes is potentially suspicious. Why would you constantly change your vote, unless you knew something the rest of us didn't?

It's not because you guessed wrong, it's because you couldn't make up your mind without numbers already being on your side or trending towards your side. Jumping on and off bandwagons makes you dangerous to the town, especially if the mafia make a coordinated push to lynch a townie.

I can't get my head around why thestick wouldn't vote to lynch Bigger.

If he was given indication by his fellow wolves that he was 'unsaveable' then I'm not sure why he would try a fake claim near the end of the day.

I don't think this clears Bigger as I believe that this *could* have been a double wolf on the block day and I think that in previous games it has been tried to put two up to get one 'cleared'. Thus they may have wanted to get Bigger close to being lynched but didn't let thestick vote for him to make it too close?

I'm not saying that this is the case, but it is worth us pausing for thought before we consider clearing Bigger.

Why would you want me to stick with a vote that is cast with minimal reasoning (being day 1) if nothing comes of it? Cast a vote, listen to the response, see if anyone else agrees with the suspicions you voice. If it goes nowhere, switch. Where am I being anti-town?

I argued for my votes. I felt I had a strong case for why thestick was innocent, and I acted on it. I looked at the alternative candidates and stated my preference among them. If thestick had hung as a townie, I would have more or less randomly looked somewhat pro-town instead. As a townie, I don't know if he was innocent or not! You cannot simply conclude that defending a wolf is by default proof of scumminess, and you have not argued for your accusation that defending thestick makes no sense whatsoever as a townie. You've simply kept saying I helped defend him and he was a wolf and that's that.

I have typed up my main suspect post, but I'll save it for a while. Maybe someone else shows up with similar thoughts, which would be interesting.

TT: What was there to lose from making the claim? Even if the wolves were determined to bus him, they could still make some villagers look bad by enticing them to switch off. And if the claim was unexpectedly well received, they could always change their minds and save him, anyway.

Btw, just to interject a random thought I had earlier. Villager Sareln has a history of being easily swayed by claims. So his behavior is perhaps consistent with that. On the other hand, he emphasized that the claim was "testable", which was a little odd. A bit eager to have it tested, since he knew that thestick could actually deliver?
If you know what I mean.

I think it depends on the purpose of the 'bus'.

If they were bussing him to gain deep cover for the other suspect (in this case Bigger) then I would be surprised if they wanted a claim to make it close. thestick was too suspected to likely be forgotten even if Bigger also turned up wolf yet Bigger could be 'cleared' or perhaps at least given some cover by being so 'nearly mislynched' to save a wolf at the last minute.

Its one possible scenario, and one I'm sure we've seen ballsy wolves pull off before (I think). That would also explain why thestick didn't vote for Bigger despite being around at the end as then they would then perhaps have their plans to clear Bigger be scuppered by one villager switch.

I just can't help but think there must be something more to thestick not saving himself. It makes no logical sense for him not to unless he is protecting someone else...

Zakalwe: Obviously Injera made himself noticed yesterday, and you haven't mentioned him, yet, so...

Nice Poirot impersonation, btw. smile

Of course he loves to do that. Someone illmannered could call him attention-wh*** but no such person around here, ne?

But now that the catwalk-Azza lovefestival has ended we are waiting eagerly for your revelation zak.

Jokes aside I do agree with a lot of zakalwes mentioned suspects (as stated earlier today)

He still needed one more vote. Even if he voted for Bigger, Zakalwes mayor vote would have sent Thestick to the gallows.
I have to run.
