In world news, mackoti's plans for world domination got a boost as he nabbed the Statue of Liberty. With so many cities and the world being nearly one continent, that should give him a major boost.
Quiet world, but Seven and mackoti are teching away. Seven is heading towards Flight (3 turns) and mackoti is heading towards Electricity at 0% right now. I just went to 100% and we’ll pull down Combustion in 3 turns.
I figured now is a good time for graphs, so here ya go:
GNP:
Seven's got a GA going right now, so his GNP is artificially elevated, but he and Gawdzak are clearly in the lead here. You can see the bump in mine when Oxford was built, and mine keeps creeping up, but no big jumps.
Production:
Mackoti is still dominant here. In fact I suspect mackoti is sacrificing mature cottages for workshops and watermills, which is why his GNP has decreased, but his production is going crazy. You can see the slight uptick in mine from the first turn of laying down railroads. It should increase noticeably over the next 4-5 turns for me.
Crops:
Seven is the clear dominater here. I'll be going Biology after Combustion, so when that comes in I should get a massive shot in the arm here.
Power:
Gawdzak and mackoti are pretty big...Gawdzak especially. He borders Seven, mackoti and wetbandit, so unless he attacks through one of them, he's probably preparing to invade one of them. I'd probably guess wetbandit because he's the weakest of the three, but who knows? He may hope for a dogpile. The four lowest power levels are all pretty close to one another, but I'll probably have a small jump when I get oil online and upgrade my frigates to destroyers.
Good question, and one I don't know the answer to. I'll have Machine Guns and Destroyers, which would mitigate it a little bit, but not enough to really stop it. Going to get very bloody soon. Haram may have Machine Guns (he's working on Steam Power right now and could go Railroad next), but no Destroyers. I'd probably go after the low-hanging fruit first and hit haram if I was him, but sometimes people have a different plan.
And regardless of what happens, I had fun playing, so I consider it a good game.
Gawdzak gave me his World Map and 2 gold...does this have a deeper meaning? He tried to extort me earlier, he offered me a world map trade a few turns ago, and now he's giving me his world map and 2 gold. Seems very strange to me, but I guess I must be missing something. Harry, do you have any idea?
Other than that, not much going on. 2 more turns until Combustion. Seven gets Flight next turn, and Webandit gets Steam Power. Mackoti is still a few turns from Electricity.
Gawdzak is by far the power leader right now, so he definitely has the ability to attack Mack. Go back a couple of posts and check out the power chart...Gawdzak is as far ahead of mack in power as mack is ahead of the rest of us. He's been building mostly units for like 25 turns now. I can't see his research, so I don't know what he's teching, but he's got to be competitive with Seven & mack.
I would not be upset to see him attack Mack, and I would happily join in the dogpile to try to nab some more land. On the other hand, mack has production out the yin-yang, so he has the ability to build up very quickly. But if he can hit several targets near simultaneously, he could probably hurt him badly.
Maybe the 2 gold means he's going to attack in 2 turns?
Yep. I already have a significant force on my border with mack...the bad thing is that he has an oil-based navy already, so he can crush my frigates if I try to use them. On the other hand, I'll have Combustion in 2 turns, though it will take me a turn or 2 to get the oil online.
But I easily have 25-30 Cavalry/Cuirs within 2 turns of mack's border. Just have to keep them out of sight from him.
