RBP3 [Spoilers] Capac of Mali

T112 Report

Not much happening, except for the debacle of England & Carthage almost failing to log in. We thing I failed to mention on T111 was Sirian celebrating PM day. Shame to have it in the expense light capital alright

In Mali, L'Wren finally finished her cottage, so Uberfish fired its scientist to work it. She can cottage the final river grass tile at Uberfish from T113. The (7 turn) FP farm was completed at Ruby Tuesday, but seeing as growth unaffected, we're working the gems. Jerry did her turn cottaging at Blake, and we finished a chop at Steel Wheels which will stay in the hopper until we are done building culture.

Taoism spread in Sticky Fingers. How about switching Sticky to a (slow) worker next turn (when we grow and hire 2nd scientist)? Will take around 11t but its lack of hammers means it won't produce anything fast without the whip. Said worker could then chop out a monastery from 2nd/3rd ring forests.

Is there a sub-routine then sends barbs to the most inconvenient tiles?

And here's more of a look at the southern desert:

The Praet in the pic is now sharing the same tile as Black.

Checked the PAT cash situation and I think Maya needs some more to run 100% this turn. Maniac was logged into the game but did not respond to by chats or in-game messages. Asked Maya to request the cash they need to run 100% this turn, so please accept their request for gold if it's less than 20g wink

Email to those cheeky Roman scamps:
Quote:Dear Team SsS,

We note that you have spent 44 EPs on us. Is this an oversight, or have you decide to go back on your previous comments regarding EP spending?

Regards

Emperor Capac

They'd previously agreed to match our spending.

So did we go to 44 intentionally?

Not yet. Let's see their response and we still have their graphs, so no hurry to spend EPs on them.

And here's the really rather rude/childish response back from Rome:
Quote:Dear Mali,

Do you really feel violated by my spending one extra EP on you when you know they come as 4/turn? I have redirected my spendings towards Egypt as of last turn, but now I'm tempted to keep them on you just for the hell of it!

Turn 113 Partial Report

Mace finished in Blake. Started Catapult, which we can whip next turn. We could also start a Horse Archer there, and whip it as a Knight once we get Guilds. A Mace also finished in Sirian, and I fired the Engineer and started a Settler, due in 4. Steel Wheels grew to 2 and Ruby Tuesday grew to 3. Sticky Fingers grew to size 8, and I hired another scientist and switched to producing a Worker as suggested. The Worker will take 15 turns to complete.

Barb Axe moved 1W of Sticky Fingers, and Jack killed it (2.8/4). I recommend moving Jack into the city to heal. The barb Axe in the south moved towards Wild, who also killed it (2.2/4).

L'Wren started cottage at Uberfish as suggested. Carla finished Steel Wheels' mine, and I switched the tiles to work the mine so that the borders will pop in 2 turns. Next turn we can work a 1-hammer tile and still get the border pop.

Jerry finished the cottage at Blake. We could work it this turn if we think a 2/0/1 cottage is a better investment than a 3/0/1 flood plains (Blake will grow this turn either way).

Marianne, Bianca, and Marsha are all unmoved at Ruby Tuesday. At least one of them, and possibly two, should head east towards Paint it Brown.

Paint it Brown can be whipped this turn, if you like.

Maya requested 2 gold and then 3 gold, which I sent to them. I reduced funding to 50% so we have a positive cash flow for now.

In diplomacy, Maya says that India is being gifted Horse Archers. Do you think they may be working on Guilds and planning a mass upgrade to Knights? It would be expensive, but apparently they have a lot of gold.

I don't think it was Marianne who grew to size 8 wink

I'd send the two workers from the FP farm to Blake/PiB. The other one (Marsha?) can stay and further improve Ruby (and maybe lay a road to Steel Wheels further down the line).

As to the settler, how about founding the production city just south of Sirian, rather than the FP city? Rome seems to be itching for a fight, and we lack production cities (our MFG is pathetic). If Inca/Rome settles for the cows & FPs before we can get our own city down, we can claim we need the Great Artist to slap down their culture.

As to India getting HAs for a mass upgrade, that would be hellish expensive (120g each). I'm sure they are building up their military, but it must be partly from infra (barracks, stables, cheap forges) because they simply couldn't the maintenance of 8 cities and a huge army. Maya's claims of gifted HAs is pure speculation and should be looked at cautiously.

In diplo, I'm going to send and email to Rome thanking them for clearing up their EP spend situation. I think they are looking to escalate the situation to justify going back on their word: their reply was nonsense on so many levels ('EPs come in blocks of 4' is simply drivel, inflammatory language, etc.).

FWIW I thought your email to Rome was a bit confrontational. I know I'm not keeping track of EP spending and it would be easy to accidentally go over.

Their response does seem like they may want to escalate though, so hopefully we can defuse the situation.

I'm fine with settling the production city now. I still want to settle the FP if we can, but perhaps in the near future the plan should be to get several Knights out to attack Inca with.

Also, I think the Heroic Epic should go in Steel Wheels. The two chops will finish the Mint there, right? Then we can go ahead and start the Heroic Epic, and after growing some we can double-whip a barracks and put the overflow into the HE. There aren't any other buildings we need there, are there?

Is Babylon's Marble still available? It looks like we might be ready to start the HE in 2 or 3 turns.
