Whip the courthouse maybe and go for the wonder. You're not getting the clam during the next five turns anyway. If you lose it you get fail gold with 50% multiplier to boost your lib/Taj race.

Maybe whip the courthouse to get a ton of overflow into it yes. It's worth a shot. I wish the others would update their threads this is a really cool moment in the game.

Well considering Sian's enormous power I think I won't attack him for a while. Grimace's western city could fall to him anytime, but sure I'll give it a shot

Next turn it's falling, outside of dreadful luck.

Retep got a tech last turn and it was... Printing press ! My guess is that he's going straight for rifling. Which means my plan to get cuirs soon is not going to work. Defending at rifles vs muskets and cuirs is not fun. If he gets banking sometime soon I'll rethink my strategy.

To my knowledge the best defense at technological disadvantage is massive collateral? On the plus side we have to defend just 1 city ( of course losing that one is fatal). But if you were retep, would you rather attack us or Sian? Which brings us to the next question, should we help filthy behated Sian in a possible war against retep?
Libbing MS is unrealistic I suppose?

Libbing chemistry is a possibility (need to tech gunpowder first though) but meh because MS and steel are pretty costly. I'm not sure what I'd do in a Sian vs Retep war. Perhaps try to take all of Sian's cities directly south of original greek territory (counting Grimace's last strongholds it would make around 8 or 9 cities). That should be doable (they're far away from Retep) and would mean Arabia and Greece would end up similar in size.
