[Spoilers] Dreylin's short visit to a late Era

I doubt he is commited to attack us, but it can happen that he takes his chance for an empty city.

So he did

Razed though, not kept.

As you said before we left it, it was always a risk that he did that but we did need to take it out to clear our backlines and we didn't think a garrison force could be left without compromising our onwards push. I don't regret taking it, but maybe we should have burned it so as not to give him the excuse to get involved.

If he's offered us a Peace Treaty, then I'll take it; if a Cease Fire, we counter with Peace Treaty and see about pillaging some roads. In fact, we maybe want to take the opportunity to pillage a bit ourselves in the region.

Shitty day, so limited commentary:

I accepted as stated earlier. Our mistake to keep that city and I'll put any ill-will over this on one side for now (but not forgotten). I also re-offered the Gems-Sugar trade since we need the happiness for a turn at least.

Good news on the Gaspar front; he left 3 Rifles in Nixon, so only 8 in LA - and he withdrew the Worker from the hill, so no alternate route between the two is available. That means if we cut the road, a max of 9 Rifles in the city next turn and IIRC your sims favour us in that matchup, so I moved the MG and 2 Cavs on to pillage and set the siege to bombard away the defenses:

Brought all the Cavs forward into the forest and overlaid the pair of Rifles.

I assume attack order is roughly: Siege, Cavs, Gren, anything left

Continued with the rest of the contingency plan for moving the new round of forces forward:

Running 10% on the slider to keep 3-4 cities happy, and if the Sugar deal comes in then Goats & Rabbits are Happy again. If we have success with LA, then we can pop borders on Cats to get Ivory & Spices in borders as well.

Sorry about the shitty day. Thanks for the quality reporting; it's great to see game leaders maintain active threads.

Attack order:
- 2x Cata
- treb (better chance to withdraw)
- gren
- 5x cavalry with pinch
- rifle, cavalry (whatever has better odds)

Gaspar wont get any unit in LA, he hasnt whipped it from scratch and got 1 just out.
Espionage shows he has nothing prebuild and I believe he cant get unit in 1 despite of bureaucracy:

So let's cross fingers again.

How many units do you have to attack next turn? It looks like 9 cav, 5 rifles, 1 gren, 1 MG, 2 cats and a treb?

2 rifles are unable to hit next turn, and 2 cavs are still heavily( injured 4.8 and 5.4 str)

So total:
- 2 cat + treb
- 7 full hp cavs (6x pinch)
- 3 rifles
- 1 gren
- 2 wounded cavs (2x pinch)

Thanks for the kind words. A lot of the reward for this game is the back and forth with OT4E (plus, y'know, doing quite well), but it's nice to know there are other out there who are following along. And the day did get better; when I got home my kids decided to put on an "Unusual Fashion show" for me - which consisted of quite a lot of nakedness, inside out clothes, shirts worn upside down, and pants on heads - and cheered me up quite a lot.

So, if things go well against Gaspar tonight, maybe we need to take another look at the "give Scooter a black eye" plan... devil

I cant think about anything further in this uncertainty. Definitely I like thinking that we have enough units more than we lack just a single one. Anyway we had to prepare to the worst and I am still sure it was right thing to do.
