Well after all that posting, you're tied with rego at 449 each.

And your post takes him ahead (and my post further ahead). Plus you are forgetting the original post (since the number shown denotes replies not posts).
My personal view is that contentious or key diplomacy is worth showing, but others can be summarised. There are a lot of civs in this game - there is going to be a lot of diplomacy!

Yeah, I think I'll summarize from now on, unless it's some really critical diplo. Makes for easy spam, sure, but a little too easy for my liking. Though it's nice that I was beating Rego again, if only briefly.
If someone misses hearing about all the little details of how I'm arranging things diplomatically, I can start posting the small things again.

I didn't mind seeing the details, but maybe you could collate a few messages together, and summarise them with the full text in spoilers. Or something like that.

Something like this?

Plako's responded positively to our inquiries about future trade routes and resource trades.
Our directions for Locke to meet Luddite seem to have been appreciated.

Gathering gold at 0% before we go back to 100% on Maths. Tested what happens if we go for Sailing before Maths and Masonry - we get Sailing on turn 73, and delay the Hanging Gardens by 2-3 turns (possibly losing the wonder as a consequence). Probably not worth it, considering we can get Sailing on turn 84 after Masonry anyway. That 11 turn delay is only worth about 40-50 gold (since Luddite will be our only source of income in the near future)... no big deal compared to the prospect of losing the Hanging Gardens.
Granary will be finished next turn in the capital. Library queued up next, to be finished on turn 75.
Copper mine finished at Tigris. Both the city and the copper will be connected up to the empire next turn.
Finishing the final Warriors in Magadan and Evermore before Copper arrives. After this, it'll be Axes in Magadan and back to the Granary in Evermore.
Gems mine built at Felidae, which has improved our economy considerably. We'll be building cottages at both Felidae and Evermore shortly, along with at the capital. We're just about at the point where our GNP should start taking off.
Our Scout has encountered a Warrior of Rego's down south near Plako. I've also pencilled in some potential decent city sites along a canal, although realistically I'm not sure we'll be able to settle them before Plako or Nakor do. Probably also a little optimistic to think it wouldn't aggravate them even if we did settle there. I'm thinking the Pig-Gold and perhaps Fish-Clam cities are the most realistic for a southern border that we can expect right now. Will see as things progress though.
None of Nakor's cities aside from his capital seem to have a border expansion yet. Wonder if he's researched Mysticism yet... kind of would have expected some more culture by now.
Looks like we've found the route west towards Rego's land at last. Will be interesting to have a look around and see just how far his western coast is from our eastern coast.

Oh, I signed Open Borders with luddite this turn as well, since he has a unit that needs to pass through. The issue was slightly complicated because he's close to Sailing (about 5 turns away according to him), and I realised that he'd get more out of it than us initially because we're delaying Sailing ourselves. However, after a bit of thought I decided to let it go and write off his small advantage as an investment in goodwill. I joked with him that maybe he can repay us 10-20 gold once Currency arrives. Doesn't really matter, of course.
Demographics are looking surprisingly good now. Fourth in GNP even at 0% science (almost tied for first at 100%), second by only one point (!!) in production (huge improvement), and not too shabby in food either. Surprised that we're fourth there actually - I'd guess Locke and Mackoti are the ones slightly ahead of us, and Plako's obviously at the top. We'll have multiple (four!) new food resources coming online in the near future though, so our position there should quickly improve.

Don't mind showing off your bpt at 100% science?

I've recently been having a re-think of the whole game situation from an objective perspective. Basically, it comes down to two main things: distance and trust. In both cases, I think the conclusion is that I can't realistically war with Plako at any time in the forseeable future. Even if I can overcome the difficulties of the sheer distances that would be involved in a N-S campaign (compared to an E-W campaign), I simply don't trust Rego enough not to take advantage of a situation where most of my troops are locked away in the south. Perhaps I've got the wrong end of the stick, but his diplomacy so far with us really just hasn't endeared me to him. Unlike, for instance, Luddite, who I'd be much more confident to trust in a situation like that.
So, from this perspective, I figured it'd be worth signing a much longer-term NAP with Plako and getting a much closer cooperation with him in the meantime, with various side benefits for both of us. We haven't finalised anything yet, but he's displayed a lot of interest so far, and hopefully we'll end up with something to both of our benefits. Agreeing on a border has proved to be the main difficulty so far, as Plako's been playing hardball much more than I anticipated. Still, I'm confident we'll end up with something decent.
