[SPOILERS - PBEM29] spacetyrantxenu - Mao of Babylon

AT, you've done a great job and I reaaaaaaly appreciate it. I just started my new job today and these guys are...challenged. I don't see any realistic way I can resume spending time on Civ for quite a while. Are you going to rage quit if I'm not able to resume activity in this game? I'll stick around the thread and post as often as I can, hopefully with meaningful insight (wait, I've yet to do that in this thread, never mind!). I know this isn't what you signed up for, but life has thrown a real wrench in my game playing schedule.

If you're not able to commit to a full time take over I understand, we can try to sell this position to someone / anyone interested in running a dogpile. Maybe Plako would want to "herd cats" again. lol

Commodore, prepare for a duplicate post in PB7.

I work in IT and this new job is weird...frustrating, no one really is around much to help the new guy get settled in or find things, it's kind of a strange deal. Usually when you bring in someone on a contract you would want to get them everything they need quickly so they can be productive quickly...otherwise why did you hire me? Anyway, should have spoilered that, it's off topic.

Nothing significant but I was chatting with Sian this morning, he says he can't decide between teching to cavalry or machine guns. Said he just got Rifling this turn. Heads up.

machineguns probably will mean game over, since we can't kill them easily.

cavalry means flanking cannons. So neither of them are good for us wink

I'm thoroughly spoiled now. With the vets' game ending and my help no longer required, I didn't see any point in remaining unspoiled since I haven't been in game for nearly a month now. Good luck!

got the save and took a look.

Sian razed another of Dazed's cities and suicided a knight vs. one of our cannons.

Sian has cannons and rifles.

My guess is that our great offensive will end up going nowhere... but we'll try. Sian is teching really, really fast.

More of a report when I get the save played.

sent to the allies:

Quote:Fellow allies!!

I am either a turn or two from astronomy - I thought it was one, but Civ doesn't seem to like you running that high a deficit, so maybe it's 2.

I am pretty much set to move cannons next to joao II next turn, along iwth the rest of my stack. I'm leaving some cannons up my mehmed to do some poudning - we'll see what happens there.

I have a mixed stack of cannons, grenadiers and medieval stuff heading towards montezuma - Dazed, if you kill off his ships, i should have some 3 or 4 frigates in the water near me in a few turns, so you might be able to move units up to threaten him, as well.

I moved a stack closer to mansa musa, pillaging a cow on the way - take that!!

He's got a stack down near Get Me Jewelry - cannon, woody II gren, 2 shock knights, plus 2 workers roading a wine. I dunno if he's attacking or what. his frigate and galleon are east of Michelle Bachman.

he offered me peace smile I declined. I think weariness is beginning to affect him.

it looks like he built SoZ in a coastal city (darius) - can one of you guys verify that? If so, that's obviously a priority target for us

Your replacement Tyrant

I think the razing days are over for Sian - he's only got the one gren on that ship now.

So, some stupidity on my part resulted in losing 3 cannons last turn. I forgot that cannons didn't get defensive bonuses, so he killed 2, and another I probably should have moved back, then in with my forces this turn. Stupidity.

He burned ANOTHER dazed city this turn - I have no idea why Dazed isn't in slavery right now, but he's not. Dazed seems to have his frigates out, though, so that will help.

We have a stack up by Montezuma (on the gold island) that should be able to take it next turn, unless he heavily reinforces. I'll burn it, rather than keep it.

I have a stack near mansa, which may get hit next turn.

I gave some cannons to catwalk - he's going to culture bomb to get next to joao - dunno how well that will work, but we'll see.

Astro next turn, so frigates to clear the seas and bombard cities.

My guess is that the game ends in 5 or 6 turns, though - I think Dazed is pretty unhappy with how things have gone, and cat thinks he's not long for the game. I think that someone will concede.
