Ok micro plan updated for the next phase (til t90). If we miss the HG then we obviously need to adjust some, but fingers crossed that doesn't happen.
I've planned for chop/whips from both Nemedia and Zingara for four more workers pretty early after the HG completes. We need all of them to try and keep up with the growth curve of our cities (even so I think we still end up working a few unimproved tiles here and there). I'm also assuming we get our worker from DIM on the spice forest on t76, so he can start chopping on t77, we should make sure DIM are on the same page with that.
Infra wise:
Aquilonia - Stables
Nemedia - Library, Hammam
Zingara - Library, Hammam
Cimmeria - Barracks, Hammam(?)
Pigs - Granary, Library, Hammam(?)
Gold - Granary, Library, Hammam(?)
I've put question marks by the Hammams in the newer cities since we might prefer to build forges there if they're available. I'm pretty sure that we'll need Hammams in Nemedia and Zingara before forges are available to increase the happy caps. AH - can you post the names for pigs and gold up here on the forum? I know you've told me what the names are but I've forgotten them
The biggest concern is that Cimmeria improves pretty slowly, mostly due to lack of workers to help get it up to speed, working the wheat, the silver and a plainshillmine gives a pretty low food surplus. We need to work the silver for our economy, and we just don't have the workers in place to improve farm the two tiles unless we sacrifice growth in Aquilonia. Working the plainshillmine gets us the barracks done pretty quickly and lets us start pushing a few more military units once our economy can handle it. I think we'll want at least two cities on military and Cimmeria and Aquilonia are it for the moment. I've got Aquilonia pumping out HAs and Cimmeria on ground units, since I haven't spared the production for a stables in Cimmeria (yet). Cimmeria won't have the hammers to produce HAs in a timely fashion in any case, at least not for a while (need to get two more farms, one under a jungle tile, then build two/three more mines, at least one of which is under forest).
Aquilonia can get to 25 hpt at size 10, which is two turn HAs or Catapults (without a forge!). We're one happy short of size 10 at the moment, so we should try and squeeze in a forge here once they become available. (maybe let Zingara and Nemedia build spears/axes whilst the capital builds it's forge).

Small Diplo update:
Had a chat with CHASM recently. They know that a Maya warrior is going to go through their lands to meet HRE but we probably can't make it in time.
They also guessed/know that we are going for HG. Maybe it seems to be common knowledge? (we have stone and have an aquaduct UB so it seems to be an easy guess). They aren't going for it and to them it seems that no-one else is considering it, except maybe India who is the only competition for it (they have stone), and are worried long term about India in general if they get mids.
Not going to send diplo mails during this break, since nothing new is happening. I'll start sending a few after we get going again.

So we reach T64 (finally):
Barb warrior moves towards Zingara, however we have an axe that is mobile and ready to take it out when it gets nearer.
We now have a trade route with Ruff, thanks to our workers roading to the river. I thought we would get his trade route so I moved Natalia (I think? The previously unnamed chariot) S to heal in Carthage's capital. However, we were at war with him some 11 turns ago so maybe we won't get a big enough bonus for 2? It's only 1gpt either way so it doesn't make much difference.
I don't think we can catch up to the Maya warrior while we are at 2.2 health. So we should probably heal and then head S to Maya then E to Mali.
Valeria will be fully healed next turn. Will have to send Portugal a message about that. Send NW past Rome to hopefully meet Babylon (Byzantium can wait).
Anyway, here is the GNP graph:
Yes we've overtaken India and DIM. This is only temporary until we get our next 2 cities, then we'll be back to our rightful place at last. Anyway, everyone is going down here, although that might just be since everyone is saving gold or planning war.
I plan to do a complete overview at T77 (was going to be T75 but we'll settle 2 cities on T76 and (hopefully) get HG on T77).

a quick picture (end of turn 73) and a quick question
Quote:Barb warrior moves towards Zingara, however we have an axe that is mobile and ready to take it out when it gets nearer.
is it better to wait and attack the Barb when it moves onto the stone or move the axe onto the stone, fortify and then wait for the barb to attack us.

It's better to wait. The barb might not want to go for the stone at all and instead might pillage our road network (which would be just as bad). Better to wait until it gets in range.

Sent to Ruff:
Quote:Hi Ruff
Sorry for not responding sooner. We totally forgot that we needed to send you a reply.
Your movement plan sounds fine. We will let you contact Carthage since it ensures Belit gets a safe return home, and they are close to us. Where would he be this turn? (didn't you just meet Portugal?)
We aren't really keen on your proposal to meet Maya. You would have to go S, which is the opposite direction from us. Also they are located directly N of your civilization so you can probably take a much shorter route from there.
Enough Talking!

Carthage is fine since they are directly S of us. Maya is not really fine at all since they are much further away.
and Portugal:
Quote:Hi CBE
We are currently in Scales, however we will be fully healed next turn and plan to send him off into the wilderness. Since we do not really want to spend more time healing, do you know of a barb free route we could take to your NW? If there are none available then that is fine also.
Enough Talking!

Ruff:
Quote:A4,
He spent a turn waiting for a barb to move only to end up beside a barb warrior. He should survive and get XP.
He is currently at the Korean capital site and is following the route I sent you. I have met maya so scrub that suggestion.
Cheers,
Ruff
OK, so he's going to follow the route he sent us. Belit will be in our borders 1S of the copper mine 8-10 turns from now.
As for what we want to do with our scouting units, this is what i suggest (in some kind of order):
Meet Babylon, Mali, Maya
Meet Byz and Rome
Find out what is in the fog patch to the W of us that the map missed.
Defog the river that leads to Ruff (is goes all the way to India and Krill) to get international trade routes post-currency
Defog the river that goes through DIM and England (it also goes through Inca, but that doesn't matter)
Circumnavigate (well, we'll be meeting all the other civs anyway, might as well get this if we can. Although it's completely useless and we might not even get it on this map)
So I think:
Valeria should heal, then contact Rome while heading N to Babylon. After that head E to meet Byzantium then W for circumnavigation.
Natalia should heal, then head S to meet Maya then E for Mali. After that, head N to defog the river that goes to England. (or we could head E to catch the Maya warrior, heal then head S to meet Mali. But I'd rather be safe)
Belit, when we get her back, should go defog the spot we are missing, then Defog the river to India and Krill. We might also be able to defog the river that heads to Portugal as well.
Had a chat to DIM as well:
Portugal are going to DOW this turn, since they have apparently found Rome's iron and a settler
DIM have done some C&D on the French and they have 4 warriors and a spear for 4 cities. They don't have horses connected yet nor do they have archery and their copper will be disconnected next turn, so this will be fun.
Also, the idea has appeared on attacking Inca. What do we think of attacking Inca on T100? We would surely have to include Ruff, and what he thinks about attacking then. Then again, he is still recovering from the last encounter and might not be in good shape to supply much.
Personally, I wouldn't mind sending a few HA's over there, but Inca won't have a military situation like France does. I think it mainly depends on whether Rome and Portugal continue fighting for a while or not (I wouldn't want to face Preatorians).
Also they asked to co-ordinate a chat between the 3 of us (DIM,us,Ruff). Maybe one of you guys will have to take the call since I'll be .

OK, well more updates here.
Mukha said that the NW path is free of barbs, although we might want to go E around Rome since we want to head N. Most of the rest of that chat was discussing the turn-split.
Ruff mentioned that Belit might be able to promote next turn and asked us what we want. What do we want? Aside from his suggestions of C2 or Medic, I think shock might be an option as well. Although I'm leaning towards C2 ATM.
Also got DIM and Ruff into some war planning, although nothing has been confirmed yet. Personally, I think we should do it as it allows us to use some of our military and makes us look like we are doing something more than crashing our economy. If involved, we probably will contribute some cats/axes while building a road towards them (we could use 2 movers, but DIM is farther away and Inca will undoubtedly have spears, so not much use).
What are our thoughts re:an Incan campaign?

And just to finish the diplo of, according to Mukha, Rome is further W than we originally thought (something like 10 tiles W). Fortunately, Rome have a warrior 4N3W of Valeria. Next turn we can head 2N2W onto a hill to meet them but we have to do it ASAP since Mukha wants to kill the unit before it pillages something.
So whenever the turn rolls, could someone log in and move Valeria 2N2W?

Went in and moved Valeria to reveal smash the lion killer , be aware that there is a barb warrior two north of scales so Mukha may want Valeria to move back
I've set Zingara to Hamman, so who ever finishes our moves needs to change to library and barb warrior is directly north of stone
