-Some other team has only one size 1 city at this point? (Rival worst in population is 1000.) I really can't see how that's a strong opening, and I'm guessing it's the Isabella/Inca team since they whipped.

I doubt its just creative culture for M&M. Look at top5 cities at T28 and T29.
And again on T31 and T32.

Another option for scout is go back to explore our land around flood plains and continue to LP's border. Like 3;1-1.
Its tundra down there plus coast. No bears and explore coast trade route maybe.

Yes, I agree, the scout should go 3. No need to waste time fighting barbarians, the important thing is to establish contacts and find other civilizations.

I'll double check the micro plan once I find the time (hope I will!).
