Because it's based solely off what they've said in relation to someone who we don't know is scum. If that person is then town (as happened...) then the entire case falls down. Moreover, interactions always feel a weak thing to base a case on because they ignore what the player has posted, and, like (I think Gaz) said earlier, you can pretty well find a bunch of crap connecting most people. Specifically in this case Gazglum basically spent a day deciding Azarius was scum and extrapolating from there.
