Since I have played Hollow Knight and still am playing Ultimate Chicken Horse matches online lately, a friend recommended Celeste. The story is simple and nice, if not very relatable for me. The platforming/core gameplay, however, is fantastic. I've beaten all of the A sides and have done a couple B sides so far, the latter push you and my understanding is that it gets harder still. Definitely worth picking up if you like platforming games.

BTW Celeste is currently free on the Epic Games Store if you're interested.

Thanks for the hint that Celeste was free. I picked it up and got to the summit just now! (I didn't say anything sooner because I was busy playing wink ) Over 2000 deaths and over 100 strawberries! Maybe I'll get it also for the Switch to play on the go, before starting a second run to get the crystal hearts.

I didn't think of myself as a platformer person, but I had lots of fun in the White Palace in Hollow Knight, and Celeste really scratches the same itch!

Finally picked up War of the Chosen for X-Com 2; really enjoying the new content, although I'm glad I decided to skip Ironman mode for my first run... there's a plenty of new "Gotcha!" BS and odd RNG-induced balance issues. Very first retaliation mission had my five-man team up against eight Stun Lancers at the same time, and the third saw most of my squad wiped out by an army of eight Mutons, three Berserkers, and a Faceless, which all triggered at the same time.

Prior to attempting the expansion, I finally completed a Commander-mode Ironman all-Specialist run of the base game, which was surprisingly easy. Specialists are probably the strongest class outside of Psi Operatives.

I actually really like the War of the Chosen content. But I agree there are a few BS balance issues.

Specs are just the most balanced I think.

Specialists fall firmly into the "necessary but unimpressive" category for their first several ranks, and they'll stay that way through the game if you only take one or two along each mission for healing and hacking. Their power is that each one is a force multiplier, and that extends to other specialists- a team of six Major+ level Specialists can easily get off 20+ overwatch shots if you have them all use Threat Assessment on each other prior to popping a pod; nothing will survive that. It's astonishingly simple to cheese almost every mission this way. They also make the mockery of the final mission- just fire off Combat Protocols and/or Capacitor Discharges until the Avatars are dead, should be doable within a single turn each. Discharge also breaks Avatar mindcontrol, in case you get unlucky. You'll also speed through the tech tree, since you can ignore like half the weapons techs.

Order of Battle WWII, basically Panzer General II with supply. Playing a PBEM with some friends and having a blast defending northern France from Overlord.

Played Ratropolis, basically Kingdom with card building. Its not bad.

I would also highly recommend the game XMorph, its a wondering tower defense game. The devs are making a factorio-like game next year called RiftBreaker. Given their freshman effort, I'd highly recommend watching RiftBreakers if you are into Factorio & friends.

G30 is fun abstract puzzler on my android phone - I picked it up on sale the other day. I can't find the last word of the tree chapter though - anyone know where to look?
