Are you, in fact, a pregnant lady who lives in the apartment next door to Superdeath's parents? - Commodore

[spoilers] Commodore and Dtay are Sitting Bull of Inca, somehow.

Right now, let me talk a bit about how I'm feeling. Every time I glance at this I feel a profound, almost transcendental, mixture of rage, amusement, and admiration. Retep you bastard, this is some serious next-level trolling here. Not only do you force me to burn down the only decent infrastructure to be found in this dump of an empire (and oh yes, he is totally forcing me to burn the riverside goodies), but you've managed to toss out roughly ten tons of war elephant to burn yet another city.
“But wait Commodore,” you say, “Twisted Sister appears to have been whipped, if that's a spear surely it might hold out against four elephants?”
Why yes my hypothetically articulate lurker friend, indeed it has and indeed it might...but for the fact that Grimace is apparently doing a cover of the Xenu song “it's a pirate's life for me” and has Dun kirked his way to Gavagai's backyard. Trolly, but not a patch on our friend Retep!

What Grimace lacks in cottages on riverland he apparently tried to make up for in Calendar cottages.

Bit of a silly exercise this has been; the evacuation does mean Motley Crue should fall easily next turn and both Winger and Warrant will be under the knife the turn after...but we could have blitzed with what Grimace had in the first place! It would have been more costly on the front end, but it certainly wouldn't have allowed Retep these cheap ( in every sense of the word) razes. Still in all, it might lack for improvements, workers, and a couple of settlers, but at least we are gaining another 7-8 cites' worth of land. That's a good thing, should mean our empire is roughly the same size as the one HAK won from Old Harry early on.

Not a lot of blood tho, I realize that and I'm sorry guys.

...but what ain't shown? Joey just launched his golden age. With the Music artist. With the MoM. We need some long-term planning here, because the comfy front position is about to disappear. Gavagai and Borsche continue to utterly ravage each other, by the way. It's like they're just helpfully incubating Joey's future land for him. duh Just carry on, dude, they'll be completely exhausted and waiting after you Lib Artillery in your Taj golden age.

Retep Peace Treaty: 5t
HAK Peace Treaty: 7t
GERMAN JOEY GOLDEN AGE: 11t (going on 35)

Another burned city. More burned mines and cottages and a village.

Logged into this deal

Didn't accept but letting you know in case we want to resend, except waiting behind it was...

A way better deal

I went ahead and accepted that because couldn't see a reason why we wouldn't. We both want the routes and want DZ to be a counterweight to GJ.

Sweet. Yeah, the plan was to use the GJ OB to pressure them, so...score! Now let's meet Gav and OB him too.

Weekends aren't prime detailed update time, but you absolutely do deserve updates on the actual war. It's been pretty mundane though, one city taken at a time. Turn 124, it was the capital, taken with terrace and forge:

Even the capital has forests to help with the rebuilding! We need a billion more settlers.

That openned up a ton of ground, of course. That halfhearted probe at Winger you see was then stopped...

Painfully, might I add!

...but Turn 125 did see the taking of Warrant, its flatland archer garrison falling to mere horse archers. So that was definitely a sweet deal there. No infrastructure, but we can't expect that really. Just land and cities; buildings and tile improvements don't happen this conquest.

Yeah, okay, I'm bitter.

This is the time when Joey began his push against Elkad, with some success. The log shows that Gav is now in pure burn-it-down mode out in the Borschian lands.

Splat goes the detachment.

Finally, Turn 126 saw the taking of Winger, finally, at more expense that desired but still nothing ruinous. By this time the knight stack is pretty dispersed, healing all over and beating the Aztec pillagers wherever feasible.

Toxic rage mounting.

Then the WORST COMBAT EVER happens; a knight sent down to conquer the worthless filler city of Spinal Tap...just...just read it.

I mean, a 98% loss is bad enough, but to do NO DAMAGE AT ALL? No words.

The worldwide “let's make Joey stronger” initiative is still well underway, with HAK moving in on the last safe and productive bit of homeland Borsche has left.

So let's review how things are shaking out for Joey:
-We opted for cashing in on Guilds with a knight rush, but are getting marginal, unimproved land for it.
-Allowing Joey to freely grab Pyramids, MoM, Literature (wonders incoming), and Music.
-Elkad and DZ are at loggerheads so Joey can pick up the rest of that big island cheaply.
-Gavagai and Borsche are in an apocalyptic forever war, leaving them gassed long-term.
-Grimace flees his cities with few more troops and reinforces on Gavagai's backline, further weaking Gav.
-HAK hits Borsche along the peninsula, further weakening Borsche.
-Retep is 100% committed to being as big a monkey-on-the-back troll as he possibly can to Joey's worst rival.

Score and position correlate, but not closely. We're gaining good long-term lands, no mistake, but given the geopolitical situation I don't see how you could argue we're in anything more than second place. So what should we do? Obviously, not whip/crush ourselves further crunching through Retep's massive stacks-we have plenty to improve/grow on in the next thirty turns. But we're about to be looking at some bored veteran knights out of a job beyond deterrence...so the shipyards are making us some galleys.

I know you badgame.net guys leak like a sieve, please Ixnay on the Tippy-Offy-Ay.
