Aha! So Resist Elements does not protect against Flame Strike then?

Yeah, I think I misread that in the wiki...

That would be awesome but it's probably WAY too much work to make...

So if you have both Bless and Resist Elements, is the plus defense cumulative against chaos breath attacks? 5+4=9?

Resist magic should not because it adds +5 to resistance rolls, I.e. confusion or black sleep or stoning attacks.

Not quite sure about Bless, actually. Because according to the help page, Flame Strike is fire damage, and then according to the wiki, fire damage counts as ranged magical attack... Or some such arrangement smile So if Flame Strike is ranged magical, then Bless shouldn't help. But Resist Elements/Elemental Armor should. If anybody from the experts could chime in... smile

According to this wiki, Flame Strike is defensed by Bless, or are you using the other wiki:

https://masterofmagic.fandom.com/wiki/Flame_Strike

The following conditional effects also offer extra protection against Flame Strike: the protective Unit Enchantments [Image: latest?cb=20120103023503]Bless[Image: latest?cb=20120103022706]Resist Elements, and [Image: latest?cb=20120103022706]Elemental Armor; and the Unit Ability [Image: 23?cb=20120319223030] Large Shield.

I think all magic ranged attacks actually have an elemental type, in general priests / shamans nature and magicians chaos.

BTW, Seravy actually changed the properties of Flame Strike via his README:

6. Flame Strike

Cost : 60 MP

Research : 5500 RP

Perform a strength 32 Fire attack on all enemy units

This spell will no longer hit all figures separately, ensuring a powerful but more balanced effect that is neither overpowered against multifigure units nor useless against single figure ones.

The reason I didn't go by the wiki is that from what I understand in MoM it deals Immolation damage, while in CoM it deals Fire damage (hits each figure vs all figures). But Bless helps, that's all I care atm wink

Resist Elements provides "+4 defense against magical ranged, breath and spells and +4 resistance against nature realm effects". Flame Strike is a spell, so +4 shields apply.

Yes.

Quote:Death can deal Cold damage using Wave of Despair, but Bless works on it, even though the basic Cold spell Ice Bolt belongs to the Nature Realm.

Would if the spell wasn't ignoring realm specific buffs entirely.

Quote:If I recall correctly, this also extends to units with elemental Breath attacks.

No, Fire Breath and Lightning Breath are chaos realm attacks regardless of the creature.
Same for Gaze attacks, Stoning Gaze is Nature even if used by a Chaos Spawn.

It did extend to melee attacks though when Bless used to protect against those, but that's no longer a thing.

CoM wiki would be nice but I don't have time to make one.

I'm surprised that Resist Magic works against stoning attacks, it seems like it is a physical effect like poison rather than magic. Actually does Resist Magic work against poison too? In fact does anything help against poison?

Magicians ranged attack is chaos isn't it? So Bless should protect against that as well.

Do things like Heavenly Light and Holy Bonus help protect units in cities against attacks like Fire Storm on the map?

No, nothing helps against Poison.

It is but Bless doesn't work on melee or ranged attacks, only special attacks.

No, those only work in combat.

Can someone explain basic poison damage to me?  I was under the impression it was some resistance roll at -1 save, but no resistance modifiers will work?  Will charmed heroes ever suffer any poison damage.
