Are you anticipating an imminent attack from pindicator, then, or just protecting workers?

Can I just rant for a minute about the insulting nature of a cease fire? A peace treaty with its 10-turn lock means you're at least willing to go for a little peace. A cease fire after declaring war is just "hey, this didn't work, just give me a turn or two to reposition". Worthless. I've been on a mild counter attack.
What HAS gone wrong is that I misread the RtR patch notes...

Really didn't understand what Krill meant about animals not attacking settlers. Sucks.
Now I'm enitrely occupied about barbs now...

Not terrible result in terms of economy, though, Currency need is *desperate* over here in Incaland. I've got a decent capital built up now so I'll be able to make it, barely...harsh economics on this map.

Pindicator seems to be willing to reach a détente, so we're at peace. That doesn't mean it's been peaceful though.
Quecha are amazing at facing down all the barb archers. Wish I had them everywhere, my spear-based defense of the new gold city Pachinko was also successful but the spears got mauled.
Now axes appear. TWO axes in a stack, this is terrifying.
...good thing I had chariots ready for them. Raging barbarians are no joke. Sending my Pin stack over to slaughter that new city spawn down there.
Properly screened this time, Bingo gets settled in the west. I think I'm going to go for the Great Lighthouse, there's enough coast to make it worthwhile for FDR I think.
The RNG rewards my boldness. Not a huge deal for me, but I won't turn down the increased combat power on my archers and there are a few longbow tricks this does open up.

the nine-city empire is creaking and clanking a bit economically, despite working ten riverside cottages/hamlets already. Need Currency, then Metal Casing->CoL for the two vital IND/ORG discounted buildings. There's a lot more happiness due, with gold and silver about to be online and then those wines settled if possible. Won't hurt the econ, either.
The Pool Great Scientist is getting delayed because I really want either a shrine or a Civil Service bulb. That comes twenty turns after the capital gets a mild trade route boost:
This thing needs to be size 18 ASAP.
