If this isnt a possable city location - i need to go back to school.

Demo Graphs look like this:

We are slipping on the GNP wich says to me ether:
1) Somone is Size 2
2) some Cottage Growth (not likley)
3) Pre-Requisite Tech
as evryone has the same Population points im in favor of a Pre-Requise tech being teched up atm.
Bodicia has jumped in scores again - how im not sure but as the demographs look roughly the same as last turn im guessing its another tech as a warrior would have spiked the soldior count i think and land tile points would have altered the land area - but what can be teched in 2 turns?? Bah this is why i hate Demographs - i cannot get them to tell me what i want to know.

anyways - worker due in 2, Mining set as new Tech as AH came in.

Ahhh, it's good to be back. smile

Thanks again for covering for me, Adlain; as far as I can tell you did everything perfect, and even discovered an ultra-city site bow!

To go into my early game plan:
As Adlain mentioned, I am researching the Mining technology, which is on the way to the even more valuable Bronze Working technology, with which I can chop out a worker at Darujhistan, and that second worker can then proceed to chop out a settler for my second city. While Darujhistan does various other things still to be decided, my second city can chop out the Great Lighthouse for trade route winnz0rz.

To do this, my tech path shall be Mining->Bronze Working->Sailing->Masonry->Hunting [need the commerce from the fur/ivory], and then probably up to Wheel and Pottery [don't know for sure yet].

As for the second city site, I'm somewhat divided. A city 1 or 2 tiles east of the wheat would be great, snagging 3 foods and an incense for commerce. However, it has some cons:
-A port on the opposite side of the landmass from where the island is will increase the time it takes to colonize the area [and those beautiful, beautiful gems].
-The way it is placed will waste a lot of tiles between it and the cap and some coast tiles toward the east, which may prove irritating if I am really stranded on an island.
-The only way I could possibly get those fishies 6E of the cap would be a crappy little shack on the plains hill nearby.
-I really need some solid production, and this site has a max of two hills, just like my cap. And it will be my port city, so it needs production.

However, it would have three frigging food bonuses, and that is a reason in and of itself. Plus, those plains hills to the west of the cap hold promise as a potential production city. Oh, and I also just realized that lots of food+early BW=plenty of production anyway. Looks like this game will make me intimately familiar with the whip whip.

Thoughts?

Oh, and Adlain, you actually seem to be fairly proficient with the demographics; perhaps you could be my C&D guy since you seem to have infinitely more patience with it than I do lol.

Glad you are happy with my turn set. I'll stick around as a dedicated lurker if that's ok, and I'll attempt that c&d but at best they will be educated (lol) guesses as I have far from lurned how it truly works.

Adlain, I would love it if you would stick around as a dedicated lurker.

And any sort of skill at all in C&D would be much appreciated. It would be a massive improvement over my C&D ["So, Cyneheard's soldier count went up a thousand points; he must have trained 1000 warriors in 8 turns yikes!"].

Tis' the 600th year of our glorious Darujhistan! 600 years since Kruppe the noble warrior was sent out on a scouting mission!

Unfortunately, Kruppe the noble warrior can only manage a few miles every 40 years. Here is what he found this turn:

Exciting.

Meanwhile, I have inserted dots appropriate to my preliminary dotmap:

Thoughts/comments/snide derisions of my pitiful city-placement skills?

Oh, and I TOTALLY just noticed the horses in Darujhistan's BFC!

It is now officially my best capital I have ever gotten without worldbuilding.

Oh, and a preliminary worker plan:

T11: Move 1NW, pasture the piggies.
T14: Move 2E to the sheep.
T15: Pasture the sheep.
T18: Move 2S to the grassland forest.
T19: Chop the forest.
T22->:???

I say preliminary because I am not really familiar with the improvement times on quick, and also because I am not sure how long it will take to research Bronze Working.

You should just ask for a mapmaker on all your SP games too! :neenernee
