Yeah, GG, I played way too conservatively and could have really had another 2-3 more cities in the end. Zero city losses, had top power, and I think I was first to maces. The fun bit was ripping up Ioan's stack with vultures and cats.

Well - I'm not used with quick speed enough and also Rego's attack on my West border also helps ( indirectly ).

Managed to survive to the last round anyway - not so bad for my first game here ! smile

Yeah, that was a fun game. I was leading in score for a good portion of it, up until we had 30 turns left, when a front-line city Darrell had been sieging for ages finally fell to more elephants, catapults, and axes than I could handle. That town was the source of a lot of my points (Great Wall / lots of land / holy city ), and it also had my only source of metal, so once it went I quickly collapsed. Sorry for abandoning the game there at the end, but I was literally one turn away from being eliminated by whoever would be controlling Egypt, and it was taking too long to make a consensus on whether we continuing play or not. If only Darrell had had to leave about ten minutes earlier, I think I could have possibly pulled off a win :P


I'd be up for another game tonight, I think.
