A lot to comment on, but for now let me just say this: don't leave on "save promotions and social policies." It allows broken and unfun plays - particularly insta-heal abuse.

Edit: Oh, and let's leave ruins on, but put the difficulty on emperor or immortal so you can't get ridiculously good stuff from them.
EditEdit: Keep the start bias, otherwise civs like England or particularly the Iroquois can get utterly screwed.

I would like a trash-talking thread, I'm also a bit worried about deals though, especially since the game has research agreements. If we can keep to NO DISCUSSION OF DEALS AT ALL and not just "deals aren't binding, k?" I think it would be fine.

Fire&ice: I don't see a single person assuming you're not playing nor assuming that it's a 4-player game. In fact people can still join now! I haven't even said for sure I'm playing yet, and since I really don't have the time I'd be happy to let someone else have my spot. But sorry for the ambiguity. Yes! You're in.

I found this forum while reading up on complaints about Civ5 and remembering my Civ3 SG days fondly. I've been trying to catch up on 5 years of Civ4 BTS info. Now you are asking for Civ5 ?!

That being asked, can I still get in on this? Count me in if you need someone - I only got through 1 or 2 games of Civ5 SP before finding a shiny piece of foil laying nearby my computer desk.
