Sounds cool.
So what sort of map will we be using? Or is it usually from a set of pre-made Europe based maps?
Will there be rebel/independent territories that any faction can attempt to take over, or will all territories be owned by a participating party at the start of the game?

(shameless plug coming, but it's for a good cause)
Tasunke - if you want to learn more, you can always read my Dip1 thread here, where I tried to aim it towards newer players a bit:

I didn't survive, but I illustrated a lot of the tactical planning and such so that you can get an idea of the thought process that goes into a turn. I'm no expert at the game (that was my first game in years!), but I know how it works.

its pre WW1 Europe, Tasunke. The age of diplomacy, so to speak. (or the age of Bismark, if you will).

So, Molach, now that you're dead , any chance of changing your mind again?

Tasunke did sign up. I can ded-lurk with him if he will be posting. Or even follow the main game thread and just send meaningless advice if that is possible.
I'll survive, got a civIV adventure to rule, a world full of tanks to blow up and some demons to slay (only just past act 2 normal)

I wouldn't mind a ded-lurker, if there are any interested in this game but not willing to commit to be a primary player. It'll be easier for me to keep up w/ updates if I know someone is reading it .

oh, and you owe me double, as I had to take out the guy he was hanging out with too. There was no way arround it.
Diplomacy sounds like a cool game - reminds me a bit of Axis and Allies, which I loved to play. Reading up on your Dip1 thread scooter, thanks!

its a mix of WW and A&A, I guess
really A&A is just a more complex risk, diplomacy isn't much like it. there's no dice in diplomacy (much less luck involved), and with only 2 real "sides" in A&A there isn't really any diplomacy (except for when bad Russia and America players don't coordinate well). But diplomacy is more fun if you like social games (like WW).
I miss A&A actually - my buddy I used to play it with in college won't touch it since he found Age of Napoleon :/
