also: assassin is presumably unlikely to jump on their own wagon, due to the risks entailed
however: this may just be what the assassin whats you to think
still relies on other changing vote, though, so seems a fairly poor strategy for an assassin

therefore, jump on largest bandwagon at time of vote
This seems like a stark contrast to your usual WW playstyle, where you're reluctant to vote at all, early on.

The assassin might be worried about attracting unwanted attention by accidentally voting for the king. A self-vote would be safe, in that respect.
If you know what I mean.

I was refraining from commenting until Matt explained his vote, but I'm pretty sure we have to lynch him at this point. I'm not moving my vote and probably won't say much the rest of the game day (this is a good reason for 24hr game days for this game, heh).
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.

I did explain my views on effective strategy for this game in the sign-up thread, and I'm sticking with them.
Not sure how much additional explanation is required...

The object is not to find the assassin, it is to prevent the assassin from finding the king.

I'd be in. Would have preferred the entirely logic based 4 cops, 1 scum, but this works well enough.
In related news, if anyone disagrees with a proposed lynch, ever, they're either the assassin, the king, or the person proposing the lynch is the assassin ![tongue tongue](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/RBOld/tongue.gif)
Mattimeo Wrote:alternatively: if anyone says *anything* other than simple voting for the first target presented, they're scum (or wanting to give unnecessary information to the scum)
Mattimeo Wrote:As long as everyone claim the same thing, it doesn't matter what you claim. It's when some people claim guard, and some people claim king, that you give information away.
...actually, I suppose the order in which people claim could be indicative of something, even with identical claims. So it's probably a bad idea in general.
Definitely no need to put in place a rule against it, though.
Your posts from the setup thread, just for reference...
Frankly, I'd rather have at least a little discussion, even if the strictly optimal strategy may well be to just lynch randomly. At least, I'd like to hear something from everybody, so I can apply my BS methodology. ![smile smile](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/smile2.gif) I do have some thoughts about what a genuine asstell might look like, but I obviously don't want to go into that just yet.
It's bizarre that I should feel slightly anti-castle (and I actually do) for even suggesting we talk about things.
If you know what I mean.

It's my castle and I say what's "anti-castle" and what isn't.
And trying to identify treasonous scum is clearly not "anti-castle".

We do probably need to lynch him. I get that the best odds of winning is probably to hush all discussion, but 1) we would like to have some fun here and 2) I really do think there's some merit to trying to get the assassin to make a mistake. I get that the primary goal is to not reveal the king, but in reality you DO need to kill the assassin too.

I can't see why you'd sign up for the game and then vote to kill yourself. Unless you are actually the assassin playing a (probably ill-advised) double bluff.
