T10 anniversary...

Hello Mr. lion, seen any food tiles lately? Hopefully, Sacagawea survives at least one more turn.

Yeah, avoiding Fishing might not be viable. At least we have fish I suppose.

Sacagawea survived without a scratch...

It would seem Mr. lion was weak from hunger (not a food tile in sight). banghead Sacagawea will courageously move 2N 1E to the grass hill next turn. This should fully reveal the BFC of a city settled 1W of the stone. After that, maybe explore north a little more to possibly reveal deer (since tundra is visible).

With Math based chops (~7 forests x 30H x 2 {stone bonus}) we could get a Mids build down to 4-7 turns. Ofc, to do this we would need to get Writing pretty early (not a bad idea regardless) and run 2 scientists (9t for PHI leader) to bulb Math in a timely manner. The second GS (17t after the first) could be used on an Academy. Since a GS normally takes 17t for non PHI leaders, a 9t delay in getting an Academy is a small opportunity cost for securing a highly useful early wonder (especially given our lackluster land so far). A side benefit to this approach is the option to go for Currency early (after the Math bulb) without first going Alphabet. Not sure we will do this (since we could settle the city early and slow build the Mids) but it would be a flexible way to build the Mids for cheap without hampering expansion (would require worker turns though). Anyway, just my musings on how best to use the land we have before us.

Played BOTM 65 awhile back and went for a Sushi space race victory. At the time, I thought I did terrible (Sushi scores can get quite outrageous) but as it turns out I actually did quite well (#4 ranking). lol Didn't even post in the spoiler threads since I thought there would be plenty of scores in the 300K - 500K+ range (and didn't want to feel embarrassed).

If you haven't participated in GOTM before, definitely give it a shot. The competitions are quite fun (as well as good learning experiences) and the games range from Noble all the way up to Deity. cool

Mids could be a plan, but we need much more intell.
We won't need to decide before another 15 turns what we want to do.
Still hope to find Serdoa in the fog and whipe him of this land.
Or someone else...

EDIT: Haven't played a GOTM before, not a lot of time and I do like MP better then SP...

After moving Sacagawea (first revealing sheep and finally plains wheat), it has become apparent that we should try for the Mids. This city (after CS for irrigation) will have enough food to feed almost every mine in the BFC for 32 hpt (assuming enough happiness). Might be tempted to eventually place HE here (possibly in combination with Globe Theatre). Two turn rifles are pretty sexy. jive Imo, we should grab this site either first or after settling the wheat + gold. Ofc, if we have horses then the calculations change (grab horses first).

That is an interesting site! Should be our second or third city!

I think we have pretty similar ideas. I'd say grab horses with the first settler (assuming we have horses and the city is not total junk). Settle the wheat + gold with the second settler (we'll need the commerce) and then probably grab the stone site (to start on Mids). Desert hill (FP cottage site) would make a good 5th city site as we need to get cottages up and running asap (since Redemption will be better as a GP farm). I just hope we don't have to tech Archery (i.e. no horses or copper).

T13 scouting...

We can add silver to our available happiness resources. Marginal city (if settled 1 NE of the wheat) but maybe there is some more food in the fog. Next turn, Sacagawea will head 1 NE then 1 SE (ending in a forest) before swinging back around to start scouting westward.

Our first worker (named Ren) completed and started farming the wet corn. Started building a warrior. Probably want at least two warriors out before getting another worker (or starting on a settler). Imo, a little too early to start a farmer's gambit. We still haven't scouted fully to our west and ofc, there is a high probability we have someone to the south (we are in the northern part of the map as hinted at by the tundra).
