[SPOILERS]Zara Yaqob of Byzantium and the Melancholies of Gawdzak and BaII

Alright I tried a few openings:

Riverside Deer First Grow to size 3

T11 Worker Finish(Road/Cancel),Mining Finish,Start Warrior
T15 Riverside Deer improved
T17 Size 2
T19 Warrior complete
T20 Forested Deer improved
T21 Size 3, Worker to Grasshill, swap to worker at capital
T22-23 Worker roads
T24 Bronzeworking finish, Worker chop
T26 Worker1 finish chop,Worker2 complete move to forest
T27 Worker1 move to forest, Worker2 chop
T28 Worker1 chop
T29 Chop finish
T30 Chop finish
T31 Settler complete with 20 overflow

seems to be pretty good, the only annoying thing to me is we would waste 2 turns between t19-21 building nothing that will be finished in the near future, a legitimate option would be to build Stonehedge for 2 turn for the fail gold assuming wonder hammers don't decay. Could a lurker confirm?

Riverside Deer First Grow to size 2

T11 Worker Finish(Road/Cancel),Mining Finish,Start Warrior
T15 Riverside Deer improved
T17 Size 2, 2nd citizen work unimprove forested deer
T18 Warrior finish,start 2nd worker
T20 Forested Deer improved
T21 Worker move to forested hill
T22-23 Worker roads
T24 Worker2 finish, move to forest,Worker1 move to forest
T25 Bronzeworking finish, both workers chop
T30 Settler completes with 9 overflow

Seems inferior to the first option, settler is completed faster but more worker turns are wasted and we would still be size 2.

Forested Deer First Grow to size 2

T11 Worker Finish,spend 2 turns moving to forested deer,Mining Finish,Start Warrior
T16 Forested Deer improved
T18 Size 2,Warrior finish,start Worker2
T21 Riverside Deer improved
T23 Worker move to forested hill to road
T24 Worker2 complete, start on settler
T25 Bronzeworking finish,both workers chop
T28 both chops come in
T30 Settler completes with 9 overflow

Not much difference from option 2

So yeah just my first few ideas, which forests to chop and which tile to road obvious depends on where we plan to settle our 2nd city and we can put off that decision until our scout reveal a bit more land.

Another option could be to grow to size 4, I will try that later.

I'm pretty sure hammers put into wonders will decay over time so, but Option 1 I think is still the best 1 cause we have a lot of overflow to put into whatever we want and is only a turn slower. How much is the food box filled for options 2 and 3.

First to answer your questions, in all of our options the foodbox is practically empty.
And I tried out the wonder failgold thing, the hammers doesn't decay. The AI built SH on Turn 56,about 20 turns later and I got full failgold.

The other option is to grow to size 4, this is frustrating since it suffers the 1 more food/hammer syndrome:
The city is 1 food short to grow to size 4 and 1 hammer short on the settler completing 1 turn faster.
The bottomline is that we get our 2nd worker on turn 29, and we get our settler on turn 33. 2 warriors completed, and 8 hammers into SH.
Normally I wouldn't do this but the 2 floodplains are decent tiles to work even unimproved.

I'm not sure what's better, what do you like BaII?

T6

So much brown:

We named our capital after her:

Mikasa Ackerman is the 'adopted' sister of Eren Yeager, and the main female protagonist of the series. She lived with the Yeager family for approximately a year before the fall of Wall Maria. Though she desires only to live a peaceful life with Eren, Mikasa chooses to follow Eren into the military, where she would become the best soldier among the 104th Trainees Squad, and later join the Survey Corps.

Turn 7

Finally some good tiles.

Demos:

I didn't check the demo from earlier turns. The only thing that jumps out is the 6 rival top crop yield. Seemed like someone went workboat first for a clam/crab?

Seems like option 1 is best sorry for the late response. I think the extra size is more sorths than the faster settlers.

Turn 9

I'm probably moving north to circle around the lake with the scout.

So BaII how do you like if we grow to size 4? I think it's probably worth it to get the settler out earlier at size 3 though. Right now a good spot for the 2nd city is probably by the rice. Since we need Animal Husbandry for the Sheep/Fish/Ivory city and ideally we would want to get Agriculture before we research AH for the bonus research. We don't need to make a decision till after BW since Copper would a pretty big factor too.

Growing so size 4 I think would be a likely advantage if we are settling ivory/sheep/fish since it gives us more time to research AH. If our workers end up closer to the that spot than the rice spot we should settle there and grow to size 4. If our workers end up closer to the rice spot I think grow to size 3 and settling the rice spot would be better. Although final decision will probably be made once we see copper.

Turn 10

My planned scouting move is blocked by a wolf, so I went 1-SW instead.

Demos:

Someone definitely had a fishing start.

Big turn next turn, our worker will finish and Mining will finish, Bronze working next.

Turn 13

This turn pace though, 13 turns in a week yikes

Anyways, the land by the gold.

Going south next.

Someone grew to size 2, seems like GermanJojo:

I should've done this before but:

0.95% land area for 20 land tiles so,

20/0.95%=2105 land tiles /8 Players= ~263 land tiles per player.

That's a ton of land, something like 15+ cities uncontested for everyone. eek

My guess is a 3500 tile map with 40% water. Which is massive for just 8 players.
