1 to 50. I'm probably giving to large a margin there, but hey, its random!

Thanks for starting this up Sullla. I'll be interested in seeing the results.
I agree with no mods and standard leaders, by the way.

Good catch on the entry form, that's why running a test before starting is a good idea. I'll put in a name field for the actual Game One form.
Going to start streaming in a few minutes. First up will be the ending of my Final Fantasy 5 solo monk character, then we'll do the drawing for the Civ4 AI thing after that. Roughly 2-3 hours after the time on this post depending how things go. I'll update this thread afterwards. Thanks everyone.

I liked the settings from last year and like the arid map idea.
You should also think about setting up quick straw polls during the game about random things like 'who will win war x' or 'who will plant city 5', which would be amusing to have as well.

OK guys, we did the leader draw and map creation for the first game yesterday. Let me go ahead and dump the relevant links here at the top of this post; these are also all linked in the first post of this thread.
New Website Page for AI Survivor Season Two
Next Game: Game One, tentatively scheduled for for Friday, Feburary 20 starting around roughly 3:00pm EST
Current Bracket and Standings
Leader Draw and Map Selection
Prediction Contest Submission Form
If you don't want to watch the whole leader draw/map creation video, then just skip ahead to the last two minutes to get a good view of the whole map plus each leader's starting position.
I'm also going to request that everyone who wants to do a submission for the picking contest, please use the Google Form link above for your entry. It will be much easier to get them all in one place rather than search through the forms. By all means, feel free to post your thoughts here and discuss the game though. The discussion / predicting / trash-talking is what makes this fun. But it's a lot easier for me if I can grab all the entries in one place. Thanks. (Also, the previous form was just for testing. You'll need to make a new entry if you used the testing form earlier.)
So... am I missing anything? If not, I hope to see some of you on Friday for the first game. And remember, the game recordings get saved if you miss them live.

I enjoyed the live show on Saturday! There is one thing that did get brought up in the chat during your making of the map that I don't remember being brought up last year: someone in the chat mentioned that using Great Spies in AI cities in order to get vision causes a change in AI behaviour where they invest in Espionage Points against the observer Civ. Does anyone here (who know Civ4 far better than I do!) know if that's the case, and if so, if that causes any significant issues (other than slowing down all AI teching, I suppose)?

Thanks for doing this again, Sullla!
I really enjoyed reading your writeups last year. Too bad they can't make a return this year, but I fully understand your reasoning. I guess a short summary will be posted here as well, or will you do everything on twitch? Either way, I'm glad I could join from the beginning this time, my bet is placed and I look forward to the game on Friday!
Also the spreadsheet integration is awesome! Especially the point where you can look at all the submitted entries and how they're spread. Just the right stuff for the statistics nerd inside of me.

LogicalTautology, you and whoever made that observation about the AIs spending espionage points are correct. They all seem to run 20% espionage slider to amass more EPs. However... they also keep spending heavily on the espionage slider long after they've passed the observer civ in EP too. The base Beyond the Sword AI simply loves espionage. Later in the game, all of the AIs will have bar graphs with one another and I can use the debug options to view them regardless of the observer civ situation. But at the start of the game, it really is easiest to merge one Great Spy into each capital. I view that as an acceptable tradeoff for being able to see the bar graphs for the first 100 turns of the game, even if it means some slight weirdness in the process. (Plus it's even for all of the AIs, no advantages gained.)
One change I'll make to the submission form for the second game: adding a place for people to leave comments if desired. I miss the discussion about what's going to happen. Feel free to discuss here! Less than two days until we start.

It's not. It favors economic AIs.
Financial Civ A needs 40% slider for gold expenses. Blowing 20% on EP cuts their research from what should be 60% to 40%. They lose one-third of their research.
Warring Civ B needs 60% slider for gold expenses. Blowing 20% on EP cuts their research from what should be 40% to 20%. They lose one-half of their research.
This is significant. Economic AIs will be favored more by first-to snowballing bonuses. You're not playing real Civ 4 if you do this, it's tantamount to a mod.
Full visibility to the AIs could be done without any effects on gameplay, by tweaking the Python display screens to bypass any checks for EP. I could take a shot at this, although Ruff_Hi is more of the Python expert around here.
