I wasn't aware it was possible to crash an economy that badly in the ancient era. I lost more than half my cities, the rest are whipped to hell, my lovely cottages are pillaged and yet our GNPs are roughly equal at the moment

If Brick opts to do the Viking plunder thing, we'll try to avoid that.

I guess something else to consider is what we want to get out of this game. Are we IN IT TO WIN IT!? Or looking for some casual fun, and maybe win if we get the chance? As Vikings we may have a leg up in the Pokemon capture all the monsters competition. With cheap navy there's no real reason to be second to anyone when it comes to scouting. Find 'em, capture 'em, be the best monster trainer ever. Something like that.

AGG Vikings? Sounds like a perfect chance to play the Adventure. Just enough economic to fund hordes of pirate fleets to capture as many Pokémon as possible for the scoring dates, and then annoy the he'll out of whoever is trying for conventional victory. The game is marked casual so I feel no guilt about doing so either.

Without getting too spoilerish, I am really struggling to make anything of my land in that!

But I can see how it would be entertaining to watch.
