(spoilers) Trying something new

I.... THINK standard?

Here's some sort of sim

First sim results -
2 settlers out by turn 48, along with Stonehenge and a barracks, first settler by turn 30.

Settler #1 out by turn 30 seems to be a common thread here. The problem with this start is the small number of forests and worker-unfriendly terrain. However, these hills are really a builder's paradise. Oracle by turn 45ish is very feasible

I should stop making more posts and just edit:

Ran the sim again,
settler 1 by 30, settler 2 by 40, Oracle turn 47, 3 forests chopped, 2 mines built, and extremely behind on number of workers - however city 2 can build another worker by turn 44 or so if planted on a nice PH.

Edit 2:
Workboat first will probably be superior....

Definitely try workboat first. We only grow to size 2 on a painful turn 18 going worker first, but with WB first, we get the following calculations...

Turn 6 WB pops out, work fish, get 5 food.
Start warrior
Growth in 5 turns with 3 OF at the end of those turns.
Turn 12, warrior completes, start worker - 8 turns.

Skipping ahead... We get 2 settlers by turn 39 having chopped only 2 forests, with 2 warriors instead of 1. Oracle by turn 50.

I have not done any slavery-related calculations and have not tried adopting it in most sims.

Premature and probably dead wrong opponent analysis:

9) Miguelito / pindicator - JUSTINIAN of INDIA
8) Ruff_Hi - MONTEZUMA of Native American
7) Superdeath / GKC - STALIN of ROME
6) Fintourist / et al - ISABELLA of INCA
5) Elkad - JOAO of KHMER
4) Mr. Cairo - MEHMED of PERSIA
3) Cornflakes / giraflorens - NAPOLEON of BABYLON
2) Raskolnikov / Rusten - ______ of CARTHAGE [up for leader]
1) Commodore - ______ of JAPAN

Commodore is doing something a bit out of the box, and will probably try replicating nauf/rusten pb45 with greater success. Contender for oracle?
Strategy: military (5) and production (2).
Base Attitude: -1
Base Peace Weight: 2

Raskolnikov/Rusten - Carthage is an interesting choice and I cannot say what their plan is until I see a leader pick. But I am not guessing they will go for blatant aggression and a numid rush. They are bad news for our praets.
Strategy: military (4), growth (3).
Base Attitude: 0
Base Peace Weight: 4

Cornflakes / giraflorens - Don't know either of these players too well. I've read some cornflakes pb43 reporting. This combo screams "big chungus" on the map. Not much to say, but do not want to be next to them
Strategy: growth (6) production (2).
Base Attitude: 0
Base Peace Weight: 5

Mr. Cairo - Persia is an interesting choice. Sounds like Mr. Cairo will go after a weak opponent in the first 60 turns if he sees an opening, and then hunker down for the rest of the game. If he is nearby, go for the jugular, unless the other neighbors are better.
Strategy: growth (4) culture (4)
Base Attitude: 1
Base Peace Weight: 7

Elkad - Joao of Khmer more like Steroids of Growth... Probably will overexpand and get sword-induced liposuction.
Strategy: growth (10)
Base Attitude: 1
Base Peace Weight: 6

Fintourist / et al - ISABELLA of INCA - This sounds like an attempt to grab a religion and is one of the options we were considering. Likely contender for Oracle and likely pain in the neck. Dangerous player
Strategy: religion (5) production (3) growth (2)
Base Attitude: -1
Base Peace Weight: 5

Ruff_Hi - MONTEZUMA of Native American - What the ****? Profoundly strange combo. If we spawn next to Ruff, I think rushing out a few praets and locking him down, taking his settling land will be a likely step. Forward settling ruff would work just as well, because I don't really see how he's gonna counter anything.
Strategy: Production (8) (But really, who the hell knows).
Base Attitude: -1
Base Peace Weight: 4

Miguelito / pindicator - JUSTINIAN of INDIA
Strategy: growth (6) production (3)
Base Attitude: 0
Base Peace Weight: 6
I feel they could leverage an early imp settler into going for an early wonder using their turns saved.

Us?
Well, we're not the AI smile.
But, our strategy should be neighbor-dependent.
If we have Cairo, Elkad, Ruff, or Commodore nearby, we should rush all-in. Otherwise, we sit and think.
