It's Clobberin' Time! Raging Barbs Highlands Tokugawa on Monarch

I would be tempted to give the food back to Shinobi for max growth there -- we only get one Globe city, so we should make maximum use of it.

Rome looks pretty gassed from that graph. But Shaka's power is rather worrying. frown Mansa is not very strong, even if his GNP is high, so we should plan to hit him once Rome is finished. Hopefully before he can reach more advanced units. And if Mansa is running emancipation, killing him would remove one source of unhappiness from that.

Shaka's power is warm bodies, he's (as usual) backwards technologically. So if we do have to face him, hitting him on the attack or counter will destroy his power fairly rapid.

Shaka's power may just be warm bodies and not tech, but from that graph he has a LOT of them. frown Do we have any rifles on that border? Rifles with our aggressive and protective bonus promos would be able to kill a lot of out-dated units on defense, if we have to hold our cities against the Zulu hordes.

Shaka has had "enough on his hands" for a while now, but no sign of action. And if he does march on us, he's got to come through other players' territory - and into the teeth of cannon and GA production too smug . Of course, all our troops are on the far side of the empire, but apart from that it's all OK at T305, although our economy would be stretched without the GA (I'd have had to put everything on wealth/research to get to Democracy without Rep).

He’s at war with Willem right?

Also, we shouldn’t go for democracy. We’d rather have caste system/slavery.

We need emancipation. Unhappiness is killing us - we're at 30% on the culture slider. Yes, killing Julius will solve that, but it's still turns away as I slog through his culture. We're going to be facing a long stretch with other civs have Emancipation, and more wars (although hopefully shorter and less bloody than the Roman campaigns). And no, Shaka and Willem are getting along better now (shared religion). Once we've killed Mansa we could look at dropping back to something more useful (he's in E).

Anyway, quick question: what turn am I supposed to play up to - I've had some turnsets come to me on a "0" but this one was a "9"?

I stopped at the end of the 9 for one main reason the national park city near Mansa, I wasn't sure was it worth our while to chop the forests and forgo the national park (frankly it's a wonder which comes too late) or not.

Etiquette on CFC back in the day was to play up to the end of turn 9 and then pass on.

Fair enough, Brian. I had always played until a round number so it was easier to pass off.

National Park city... how many forests do we have there?

I checked the save; let’s chop it out at that city.
