Please Please anyone but Trump. Someone that doesn't surround themselves with yes men and listens to anyone competent on foreign affairs. Doesn't lie with every breath would be nice, I'll take every other, not picky.

Biden didn't show the debate zeal he did against paul ryan in 2012, now that was quite a show. Biden didn't hit hard enough on trump's taxes, or make enough witty remarks, but he drove trump up a wall and made him look bad.

Had my kids watch the debate to expose them to the wonder that is Democracy in America. Oops.

I'm surprised the post-debate commentators on NBC were so shocked. What was shocking, was this in any way unexpected? Did Trump say ANYTHING he hasn't been prattling on about for the past few months? Did they expect "civility"? Like I don't know what the hell their expectations for this were.

It also doesn't seem like Trump will leave if he loses the election, so that will be interesting to watch. I reckon Republicans are more likely to kick him to the curb than start an armed conflict on home soil.

No, Biden isn't the "next/equal piece of trash". Neither was Hillary before him. That would be Mitch McConnell, or Mike Pence, or any number of other Republicans hell-bent on destroying what's left of America's social security net, impoverishing millions, enriching themselves and their buddies, and tearing apart America's social cohesion. All while being perfectly willing to subvert democracy to do so.

I'm Canadian, and the Democrats under Biden would fall on the right of the political spectrum up here, but to suggest that they're more or less the same as the Republicans, or that Biden is more or less the same as Trump, is just absurd. Look at actual Republican policy and look at what they've actually done over the last four years, it's a goddamn nightmare.

Seriously, if you can't tell the difference between Joe Biden, boring as you might find him, and a screaming ape who refuses to condemn white supremacists and foments civil war on live television, then you have seriously lost the thread.

I upgrade Biden to Likely D. Trump beat him a little bit but he needed him to collapse in order to close the polling gap.

Based on polls of those who watched, almost no one was swayed. Biden already has a large advantage in the polls compared to Hillary, and is doing better in almost every metric. Barring a last minute FBI coup for the republicans like there was last time, Biden should win. Hillary would have won despite her historic unpopularity if not for the FBI pulling a book out of 3rd century Roman politics and acting like a latter-day Praetorian Guard.

The main reason why democrats haven't won every single election since 2000 is solely because of voter suppression.

edit: that being said, Biden will still probably lose florida and not have a major outright victory. Though, PA/MI should easily flip dem.

GOP wins after 1988 aren't very good even if you don't believe in voter suppression

2000. Dolphin boy hit hard in FL. Hanging chads and blocking recount cost DEMs votes, but I find that unimpressive because those lost votes were dwarfed by the panhandle's turnout being suppressed by FL being called incorrectly. The open FL Senate race also had extremely similar candidates, expect the dem nominee wasn't hindered by dolphins and he won by 285k votes.
2004. 9/11 high (and remember without dolphins the dems would benefit from this) + gay marriage refferendum pushing GWB over the line in Ohio
2016. we don't need to talk about this. smile

I just wanted to talk about dolphins. lol
