Not big on unilaterally authorizing pauses in the game for player-based reasons frown

Gold Ergo Sum Wrote:So the question is, does anyone feel strongly that I shouldn't allow a reload?

Just to throw this in, didn't we have a misclick reload request in another RBP game that was denied? I may be remembering wrong though, my blind hatred for the RBP->RBPB nomenclature switch fills most of my brain cells.

Given that both Adlain and Luddite have OK'd their war opponents to replay if necessary, I think the easiest thing is to just reload to plako's log-in save.

No reason not to be reasonable about pauses during war time. Parkin forgot to end turn, causing them to miss their window. We didn't play 200 turns to start goofing the game up now.

As far as I am concerned, I don't really care what was done in a prior game. I am supposed to make decisions on this game. And this is a situational call. I wouldn't have overturned Whosit's misclick in Pitboss 2 either. But I am allowing this.

I don't mind replaying the turn. Or at least, it shouldn't affect the war between Adlain and myself and Locke.

LP, if you'd rather have Plako field 20 less Rifles due to a misclick than meet him at full strength, why not just call for the game to end right now and save us all some time?

Yes, that was rather acidic and I'll apologize for it straight away. But I don't like the fact that rules-lawyering is being seen as a valid tactic more and more often these days, and absolutely despise it being accepted and condoned in general. This should be about having fun together, not about using out of game rules to create advantages.

To be fair, I thought Whosit's misclick was due to him no understanding the basic war declaration-bounce mechanic and not from accident.

sunrise, can you pass me along the current Pitboss host save to experiment with? Plako, can you PM me your civ password since I'll need that to test too?

Unfortunately I'm going to be out most of the day Sunday but should have some time Sunday night to hack on this.

Theocracy.

I think case reload is probably easier solution, but I don't mind this alternative either. This could probably used, if similar thing happens when at war. I'll send my password and then Sunrise needs to provide the save.

So, what's happening?? - Do we have a definitive ruling on this matter and if so what course of action are we taking??

Yes. I have told sunrise to reload to plako's save.

We should be in a pause now.

Reloaded to plako's save.

For the record I think this reload is no different than the Whosit situation, except that the popular civs happen to be on the pro-reload side.

No reason other than the vote of the people actually playing the game.

You couldn't possibly be more wrong if you think that affected my decision.

Actually, six of the 10 players wanted some form of pauses allowed. A seventh, Locke, didn't care, and since he is the one requesting it, safe to say he doesn't object. So only three players voted for "no pauses."

This is before the game? I don't have it handy, but if you do can you post the vote totals?
