You've got to be kidding me...
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

Sorry, that last post was supposed to be quoting novice's post 505, but I guess blank quotes just don't show.

No point electing a mayor with a post restriction and I thought Serdoa has been a helpful contributor so far

I suppose I'll vote Waterbat for mayor and Ichabodfor death.

Completely joke vote btw Ichabod, just your role made me think of this

Qgqqqqq Wrote:Eh, I don't think a day 1 post saying you're a bit busy at the moment and might not be able to post until the end, is worthy of any great suspicion.

Honestly this early on im inclined to take most such posts as neutral, neiither innocent or scum.

uberfish Wrote:Now the original post wasn't so bad, but THIS is defensive (no comment on anyone else in the game...) and having a long list of villager openings doesn't sound particularly genuine to me. Who on earth has a long list of openings in this game? This isn't chess. You are sounding like scum trying too hard to appear to be contributing.

catwalk

Basically this.
I hate to vote on a absentee, but this second post just rings false.
catwalk

Qgqqqqq Wrote:Wow, seems I go to bed just as everyone starts posting!

Thanks catwalk, that clarifies a bit.

I suppose Ill go for Tasunke
No paticular rea son just posting a lot of "noise" without saying much.

Qgqqqqq Wrote:@thestick, what I meant was no pticular quote mor a general theme.

Um after that (frankl wierd post) catwalk is looking suspicious again, but ill sayuberfish for a slew of wierd posts/arguements.

Ill also switch to novice in the hopes of making it count.

Qgqqqqq Wrote:Umm, I agree with not lynching a claimer, but not with thestick as a alternative.

Im sticking with uberfish today even if it doesnt matter in the end

Qgqqqqq Wrote:Wow i'm impressed!
I honestly thought all the piles were just paranoia, still we got one!!
What role did thestick/merovech claim? I think I missed it somewhere?

Maybe I'm just bad at this tasunke, but I don't see any "obvwolfs" yet.

You've got to admit, there is a funny bit of irony in novice being hit with that particular restriction. At least you have experience with it

novice for mayor

Twinkletoes, you make it sound like he lost the capacity to have an opinion and cast a vote.
