[SPOILERS] Cornflakes and Q Eat 'Em for Breakfast!

Oh yeah what turn does the great person get born?
I think we should run some somewhere else for a GA.

We don't need to found the city until calender, any earlier is a waste. (Unless there's a missionary in the area)

How much would switching to OR cost us (in upkeep)?
We don't need to convert to get the missionary building and it would mean we don't have to put in a monastery.
(If so we should switch to a missionary in GS)

Hmm I see your point on mars, only trouble is id really like a impifor fogbusting the border, and an axe/impi is a bit too costly (in unit upkeep).
Maybe LH to impi is right after all?

For GS, how about north west city goes library next and then runs scientists/clams/cottages while the pigs are used?
This gives us a GS for either a GA or a academy.

Well, OR requires Monotheism, which requires Polytheism ... Neither of which we have at present and can't get them for about 15 turns. We might be able to trade for one/both once we meet Twinkletoes because he founded Hinduism, and he had to have founded Judaism too because none of the other players even have Polytheism yet.

The next best option for generating GPP is Pork Chop which doesn't have a library yet.

Should I try trading for IW from Azza?

crossposted, and it looks like we were thinking the same place for running specialists smile

Oh yeah duh
Problem is, that site is a hole until border pop and that's easiest done by missionary.
That means id say trading for IW is worthwhile so we can afford to found with the corn first ring.
Don't offer to much tho.

Would we be willing to give Code of Laws for IW to Azza (~560 vs 320 beakers)? It's an unequal exchange but I would rather do that than pay cash. He could use cash to research Construction quicker. Long term we don't have to worry about Azza getting ahead because we boost him with a few free beakers, and short term the IW would be really helpful.

Founding with corn first ring a quite a stretch (11 tiles from our capital). It's a stretch for both Commodore and 2metra also, but still it's far from our core. It also has no forests.

I think it's also time to crank out a couple more workers.

No I think thats an okay trade, so long as we get some gold as well (id be okay with 40).
Yeah its quite a way out, but we need the dye and if the city's going to go >15 turns without a border pop then founding on the dye is untenable.
If we do that plan I think we should get the axe/impi in mars, and then leave an axe in each
I'm glad that the only players who we can't counter (elephants and preats) are too far away and crippled respectively.

Hmm I don't think workers are urgent really - pretty well every city has improvements to grow onto and the only forest unchopped is the one at the cap.
1 more from potos maybe, but nothing more seems necessary.

I logged in to offer the trade to Azza ... and realized that I couldn't trade CoL to him until he knows Priesthood frown Azza has 22 gold, making 0pt. I could give him priesthood for 22 gold and exchange IW for CoL next turn. That's a high price to pay, but Azza really gains nothing useful from either tech, while IW would be immediately useful to us ... allowing us to begin clearing the Dye before founding the city there, allowing us to clear the Banana at Pork Chop in preparation for Calandar, allowing us to clear ivory at Doughnut and gain a nice tile there, allowing us to see iron.

I had to chuckle when I opened up the event log ... "Comfuzzled herbalists have discovered a plant that might result in better illness treatment." Also a GScientist was born in a far away land.

An evil plan vs. Commodore devil ...

2 impi appear southwest of The Labyrinth on the same turn that 2 galleys carrying 4 axes appear on the lake to the north of him. The galleys can fork The Labyrinth and Mt. Doom.

We declare war with the impi. If The Labyrinth only has a Quechua defender we attack with the impi's. If there's an axe we move one of the galleys down to first attack amphibiously (if we get a 10th xp from our axe up north we can give it C1, C2, and the amphibious promotion ... actually it'd probably be best just to go with CR1,2,&3). The second galley will go towards Mt. Doom regardless. We're guaranteed to burn The Labyrinth, and if we catch him napping we could burn Mt. Doom too.

With The Labyrinth burned he has a long march to reach our territory. Since we have OB we could time the attack so that our impi "happens" to be returning home with visibility in the area so we know to continue or abort.

We'll already have all the military except the galleys (which can be built in Doughnut) because the two impi will be fogbusting in the south and the axes can be pulled from Postos (which has 3 now) and the Dye city, which won't need it's axe while we're on the offence and can whip one if approached.

The downside is the Commodore is a competent general (I honestly have never lurkered a game by Azza so I don't know about his military genious). Angering him could lead to trouble down the road ... On the other hand, weakening him now by burning 1-2 cities and pillaging would make him less of a threat long term. I'd rather take the shot now while we're prepared and he's focused on heavy expansion still.
