Robern isn't sure of anything; he can at best determine that there were things in the snow. Elizabeth and Niall figure it was horses and humanoids.
Anya takes a little more care; she notes that three horses came to the hole and milled about for a while before being tied up to one of the stones. The riders got off and approached the hole; then two people left the hole a little later, one of them bleeding profusely. The horses were ridden off to the west at a brisk trot, which had to have been painful to the rider who was bleeding.

'Three people ... Raskin and the other two guards? Anya, do you think you could follow this trail any distance?'

Perhaps I could try following them if the man kept on bleeding. But if 3 horses arrived maybe there were 3 people, and one of them is still here.

I can't imagine they would have left without their companion if more than his body remained here. Didn't you say there was a monster below?
Of course, if we could kill that monster...you have to wonder just how much treasure it might have collected, don't you?

Lucas steps up to the tracks Maybe I can help, I am quite skilled at reading tracks, I may be able to discern more
The ranger then studies the tracks left by the others

'Elizabeth, that monster was a horror. I've no desire to face it again, for any treasure. If we were forced to, though, we'd need a better plan than waltzing in like we did before. And ... I don't think we should take the platform.'
