Robern isn't sure of anything; he can at best determine that there were things in the snow. Elizabeth and Niall figure it was horses and humanoids.

Anya takes a little more care; she notes that three horses came to the hole and milled about for a while before being tied up to one of the stones. The riders got off and approached the hole; then two people left the hole a little later, one of them bleeding profusely. The horses were ridden off to the west at a brisk trot, which had to have been painful to the rider who was bleeding.
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.

'Three people ... Raskin and the other two guards? Anya, do you think you could follow this trail any distance?'

Adrien, that seems reasonable. There's also the masterwork crossbow I picked up in the dungeon, which would add 83.75 each if split four ways and 67 if split five.

Perhaps I could try following them if the man kept on bleeding. But if 3 horses arrived maybe there were 3 people, and one of them is still here.

Didn't you just take the CB ? I thought everything we had all taken our fair share of what we found in the dungeon except for the last chest.

I can't imagine they would have left without their companion if more than his body remained here. Didn't you say there was a monster below?

Of course, if we could kill that monster...you have to wonder just how much treasure it might have collected, don't you?

I would suggest someone use it, instead of selling it. I'm sure it would increase the ranged firepower of the group.

Don't we all have a long range weapon ? Elisabeth and I have a sling, Lucas and Niall have a shortbow and Robern has a CB.

Sure, but Masterwork is an upgrade.  Better chance to hit means more reliable damage.  Crossbow is a simple weapon, so anyone can use it (well, except maybe you as a druid).  I guess it might not be an upgrade over a shortbow, since it costs more actions, but it would be an upgrade for both Robern and me.  Either Robern should use it (and I can take his hand-me-down) or I should.  I only picked sling because I was broke; Covetous is a tricky flaw to manage at low levels, it seems.

Since Elizabeth wasn't part of the party when it was acquired, I think that makes Robern the logical choice for the MW weapon.

Ok, I'll take the masterwork if no one has any objections, and give my handmedown to Mardoc

Lucas steps up to the tracks Maybe I can help, I am quite skilled at reading tracks, I may be able to discern more

The ranger then studies the tracks left by the others

Really badly 2+6=8

'Elizabeth, that monster was a horror. I've no desire to face it again, for any treasure. If we were forced to, though, we'd need a better plan than waltzing in like we did before. And ... I don't think we should take the platform.'
