If team #3 takes team #2's land and team #1 turtles, team #3 will win the game, maybe by space, maybe by conquest, maybe by taking out team #4.
With twice as much land, they'll catch up in research or build a huge army.
Team #1 will have to attack someone if team #3 can expand militarily.

So team 1 goes unpunished and makes it even easyer by making team 3 attack first. This is why I don't like MP games other than 1vs1 mistakes can help you out as I've said before.
Have they called it BS? I don't think they have a preference as to who wins if it's not them, but what they don't want to have done is nothing when they could have stopped someone winning other than them.

Hmmm.... I think they think themselves not to be kingmakers--they are wrong. But if they did realize that they were kingmakers they would want team 1 to win--but I have no way of knowing untill that happens. Team3 would want team1 to win because team1 is better than team2 and team3 has a condisenceding attiude to a culture win I think. They called a culture win "nonsense" in their thread for example--in that mega-post dave did.

If the cost of acting is losing anyway, there's not really a difference between the choices. If they build up a huge army to take out T2 that gets chewed up by hundreds of muskets and cats while T1 snipes T2's outlying cities and builds up infra, then they're going to lose, too.

Yes but it's the difference between certainly losing and almost certainly losing...

Quote:I guess I'll keep an eye on the Victory screen and see what's going on with their culture, but I really don't think it's a possibility. Last I checked, their #2 and #3 cities were at like 1000 culture. Unless there's 25 Great Artists hiding out there - which we haven't seen in the Event logger - this is the longest of long shots.
Yeah, looks like F8 problem is the major reason behind their persistent and major blind spot. Regardless do Team 2 have any chance anyway with Team 1 and 3 claiming that Lewwyn's land will be captured, burnt, or whatsoever in next 10~15 turns?

Yeah, they still would have a shot, but it will set them back a bit. They'll still have their two other cultural cities and the artists. Beijing was projected to get 3 of their 12 artists. They can hit a city with 2.5k culture (one should be up there if they're seriously running the slider now) with 9 artists to make it instantly legendary, so they'd need to make up 6 artists worth of culture in those two cities. The other two culture cities were predicted to make ~400 cpt each, so it will set them back maybe 12-18 turns depending on how many more GA's they can birth.
Should be exciting. I don't think they make it at this point, though. I think it will be pretty close, though.
