[Spoilers] I have enough games already. Oh look, a PBEM !

Eucild is probably the one city I took from him that I could defend, due to the defense bonus and the fact that my stack is there. But that's the point really, why would he take a peace offer when all the cities offered are defenseless ? If I want my offer to make him think I need to offer him something more than what he's 100% certain to take in the next 3t.

In any case I'm still hoping for a Retep intervention. I just hope it's going to be against Sian and not against me.

War situation.

The diplo screen showed Retep and Sian at peace, but without OB. So I sent Retep an offer.

But then I checked the event log...

So Retep and Sian are at peace for 10t and I doubt Sian will want to hear about peace with me. I'm kinda screwed. Which is weird because I'm first in score and enjoying a double MoM GA. But Sian showed the first cuirs this turn, which means I have literally nothing to counter his elite forces. It was probably a mistake to declare war at all, with the double GA coming and all that, but I didn't expect my situation to improve so much.

Sian made a counter offer

Which I took because surviving is my n°1 priority, even in front of hindering Sian.

46 camel archers 6 pikes a longbow 23 catapults and 2 chariots.

It's time to think about my mistakes. And my biggest ones were : not having a big enough army (Grimace killed more knights than I thought he would, and both Retep and Sian created a lot more units than I thought they could) and declaring war on one of them (Sian or Retep, it would have made no difference I think). I underestimated the power of the double MoM GA. I would have had a huge tech lead after the GA, and would have had a real chance of winning the game (by being first to rifles probably). Retep was not as much of a runaway as I thought, he had less cities than us or Sian and it started showing just as I had started to prepare for war.

So now let's start mission survival, and without the Colossus.

Retep gave me a chance and I took it. I figured that losing a few knights would be worth getting one more turn of Colossus. It might give me MT a turn earlier.

Retep decided to wait for all his units to gather into one big stack. So I'm just waiting for his slow advance to happen while teching MT (overall it will take 4 or 5t)

Retep gave me an opening and I took it. I thought the flanking would kill some cats so I could finish it completely, unfortunately it just redlined all the cats meaning I'm now open to retaliation.

Here's something I learned while doing the attack : if you attack and gain enough xp to level up you can't promote them on the turn you attack, but if they had one promotion available before you attacked and a second one was unlocked thanks to the attack's xp you can now double promote your unit. I used that to double promo-heal some dudes who fought cats or longbows (and were sure to win regardless of their promos).

Got a short with all the bliss spilled already smile ?
Looks like survival is possible? Or did you just not show the 50 knights stack?

Survival is a possibility, the cap is on a hill with 60% defense. But he has too many CAs for this stack to survive I think. They're all in Pappus for now though.

I forgot to mention that I did lose the rest of the stack last turn. But this turn there was better news.

Losing Pappus in this war sucks, but I'm taking the deal. I have MT now (and the first cuir, from a knight build that automatically transformed), and if Retep wants my help to win this game I'll gladly give him. Meanwhile I'm going to try to build the Sistine Chapel and see if a CV is possible. I doubt it is.
