The cottage @ AF finishes next turn, then the next turn Bashful needs to move to chop a forest (for the library). I think that will be the PH to the NW.
We've got 2 more turns with Grumpy before he finishes his cottage. Not sure what we should do with him. He can always road.
T61, we get a cottage at London. Sleepy can then build the 2nd cottage right there, and we can slow-build the library as well (T67?).
City micro upcoming:
T60: Switch London to 1 grassland so that it grows that turn.
2-pop whip AF. If we get Writing on T62 (and that looks like the plan), then the overflow from the granary will carry over to the library.
I think we want London to switch to a library the moment Writing comes in. A barrack is nice, but not immediately necessary. We can always 1-pop whip the barracks and overflow into a chariot if we have to.
T62: BR switches to the settler for 1t. T63, switches to a library. The library's going to take some time there. Cottages are a long ways away there, we've got 3 resources to work and our workers are needed elsewhere, like getting our copper & sheep online. Food resources take priority over cottages, especially when we have 3-4 good resources there.
The worker actions for Doc and Happy are on the first page. They're very straightforward: Head for the furs, camp it, and road back to BR.

Thanks, Cyneheard. Enjoy your weekend, and hopefully we won't mess up too badly on the micro.

We hammered these out in group chat, but for the pleasure of the lurkers:
CHASM Wrote:To the Principality of DIM,
Our proposal is as follows:
1) We settle 2S1W of the copper tile
2) You settle 2W1N of the sheep
Animal Farm's borders are going to pop a second time on T75-76, since we're going to be putting a library in there very soon. A city 2W of the sheep will be very culturally cramped, and having a city overlapping BFCs with our 2nd city is too close. We are aware that this will lead to extra overlap with your other cities, but a city 2W of the sheep is going to gain very little in extra territory. We are quite willing to negotiate with you of course and want to see this settled in an expedient and fair way. Attached is the copper area.

We sent them a picture of the copper area.
CHASM Wrote:o Babylon and Mali,
We have forwarded your request to join our trading group to the HRE, and will get a response soon, although the HRE was skeptical. We would like to propose an extension to our NAPs. Our NAP proposal:
1) An auto-renewing NAP with a 10t cooldown. The earliest the NAP could be canceled is T100. If the NAP is canceled on turn X by one team, then on turn X+10 the other team may declare war. On turn X+11, any team may declare war.
2) 43EP maximum
3) No ROP of units for any civ at war with any of us.
4) Open Borders are allowed for trade route purposes
For settlement rights, the closest city we are planning on settling to any of either team's cities is 4E6N of Uberfish, and other cities directly east (8E6N and 12E6N of Uberfish). These cities are also 8 tiles north of Exodus, and London is 4 tiles north of these cities. No Mali or Babylon city would be allowed 6 tiles or more north of Uberfish, and any settlement that does not overlap more than 1 tile of the BFC of these cities would be fine with us.
If you wish, we can separate the two NAPs, or keep them as a single deal. Cyneheard will be away most of this weekend, but Haphazard1 and Antisocialmunky will be available for chats. Also, Royal Guard, who is next to Uberfish's borders, is likely to be eaten by a bear next turn.

So, I did our moves. RG died , Gulliver moved after getting healed and found Babylonian Borders, Richard found more Carthage borders, and TUO Found a wines 2s of the sheep as well as French Borders.
So it looks like pretty much everyone settled towards us with their second cities.
I guess we should get a settling plan with France and get a NAP going. So this city will be making 2 people unhappy wooo :-D I mean, we are going to be rubbing BFCs with two factions. I guess we can also tell HRE that likely France will get it if we don't go for it. Maybe they'd consider that. Also, France was a 2 city civ the last time I checked, they could feasibly grab this site since most of hte others have hit an upkeep barrier. Is there anyway we can fast track the Settler before the barracks in BR? We can move Conan up there. That should probably be enough.
I didn't end turn. What si the microplan for AF now after its been whipped.

Micro:
So, I switched us from the wheat to the horse @ AF for this one turn. Next turn, we need to be max-growth there. Why? So that our food box is 14/26, instead of 17/26, when the granary comes in. This means that we get the 3 food back when we grow to size 3, and it will still take the same number of turns to grow to size 3. And this way we get 3 more hammers and 1 commerce.
For BR: The barracks is a hammer sink while we grow. It's more efficient with BR to turn food into pop into hammers with the whip now that we have a granary than it is to simply let BR build the settler straight: the average pop costs us 12-14 food now, and yields 30 hammers. A straight build saves us 1t, but costs us most of a library and some commerce from the furs (we should sink hammers into the library once it's available: that site's going to have some decent commerce when the furs come online). Our workers are going to hook up the furs, road them, and then head off to the north to get the copper online ASAP.
DIM Wrote:Guys,
One team member currently doesn't have internet access till Monday. While I'm sure we'll get an agreement, would you mind waiting for our officicial reply till after he's back online?
Thanks!

I see no problem with saying "sure, that's fine." Mali acknowledged receipt, and will also get back to us.
Since we're waiting on diplo that has a real in-game clock, I think we want to delay turn-end a bit (like, end turn this evening)
Demogs:
Um, the Aztec are down to 2 pop. That's the "2k" on the demo screen.

Wow, that is really whipped into the ground. 2 sized 1 cities... Well, if we do send the chariot. I hope they enjoy it.

Any chariots would have to be sent by HRE. We're too far away. What we can do is subsidize the HRE with our military, instead.

Whipped down to size 1 on both cities? Ouch.
I see no problems on waiting for diplo responses. Let's just hope they are not fast-tracking a settler there. And also that France is not doing so. I don't suppose we have any idea whether France has metal already?
Agree on BR producing most of its hammers from the whip, and also on putting what hammers we have into a library once that is possible. Furs and soon cottages on all those grass tiles will give the city a good bit of commerce.
ASM, I have also noted that it seems like every one of our neighbors has settled in our direction. HRE, Mali, and Babylon definitely put their second cities in our direction. France and Carthage their second or third. Do we have a sign somewhere saying "welcome" or something? Or do we just have great land starting about 10 tiles away from London in every direction? Whenever this game ends, I will be very interested to finally read the map-makers' thread.

On the game clock, do we really need to delay? Turn is down to us and Carthage.
HRE should not be affected one way or the other, I think. Mali and Babylon we would like a response before all the Alpha and deals come in, but that is a couple turns yet. I expect the Inca-Aztec war will keep the pace slow enough for that to work out OK.

It's currently T60. T62 is when the Oracle falls. If we roll the turn now, then T61 will also happen today. I think we want enough time to hear a counter-proposal and respond. Maybe hit enter around 6PM EST? That should mean someone in Europe doesn't finish tonight, giving us at least this evening and some time tomorrow to make the deal.
I doubt I'll be able to respond, but you two know what we want. I think offering Fishing to the two of them for free "the turn tech trading is available" would be reasonable as a concession. If they're concerned about making sure their friends get it, maybe that we'd be willing to sell it to those friends for 10g each, with the gold payable "when Currency is available." Cheap? Yeah, but it's Fishing, it's pretty useless except for Sailing, which is only useful for Calendar. Fishing's all of 72 beakers anyway.
